Comments Thread For: CompuBox Punch Stats: Shane Mosley vs Sergio Mora

Really judge Kermit Bayliss - 115-113 for Sergio Mora - really? The jab was non-existent in this fight, so let’s focus on power punches (non-jabs). Shane Mosley outlanded Mora nearly 2-1 in power punches, 124-66- landing 37% to Mora’s 23%. Mosley landed more power punches than Mora in ALL 12 rounds. Mosley probably walked into more right hands than he needed to (one at a time however) in an effort to make it a fight- all the more reason to score the fight for Shane.

What is equally as telling as Punch stats is a fighter's demeanor, and Shane looked exacerbated, frustrated, and defeated from rounds 5-11. Maybe punch stat shows he landed more punches in those rounds but judging by his face, he didn't appear like he thought he was winning. Mora on the other hand looked confident and even show boated with the crowd. I think I gave Mosley four rounds of that fight.

Dude cmon, Mora looked lost? Stop telling people to rewatch the fight when you obvioiusly didnt watch it.

Mosley looked as lost and confused as anybody i have ever seen, especially in the first half of the fight

Green K for anyone who would like to count the punches thrown and landed by Mora in rounds 10-12. Once you subtract those punches and people see that Mora threw 50 punches through 9 rounds and landed 7, it should be clear that Mosley was the winner.

Mosley didn't appear lost as much as he was just simply frustrated. He even tells Naz that Mora's running alot in the corner between rounds.

Mosley was tired of chasing the dude because he wanted to put on a show and the place was screaming boo's.

Maybe whoever does these compubox tallys couldn't see the inside work Mora was doing. Mosley threw wide looping punches, while Mora was landing short counters on the inside. How exactly are these punch stats counted? Isn't it a person at ringside with a device that he presses whenever he sees a punch land?

nether won the fight because they both stunk out the place but mora just landing 7 punches in some rounds is just pathetic. the reason it was such a ugly fight because mora ran hugged & show boated all night.

if i were to give it to anyone it would be mosley.....
