Martinez isn't ******. This fight has 24/7 on it and it's a way for Martinez to self promote himself as well.Comment

I agree that Manny is totally beatable. But Margarito isn't the fighter to do it. Margarito is a mid-tier cash cow at this point for Top Rank. He still has a large portion of the Mexican fanbase behind him. Arum knows this, but he also knows it's not going to last for long because Margarito is shot and fans will soon take note. It makes better business sense to throw him to the lion now with the storyline of possible retribution from a cheater trying to overcome adversity and prove himself vs. a fighter seeking a championship in a record eighth division.manny has the upper hand but manny has terrible terrible defense, he got all busted up against clottey and clottey lost every round. thats why margs is given a chance, plus margs aggressive nature, hes either going to win or die trying.we all know pac never really faces top guys latley but maybe this fight could backfire on his handpicking ways, manny is not unbeatable.margarito was arums cash cow before manny was, there is a history there.
As much of a circus act I think this fight is, it makes business sense and it has the drama to sell itself. But in keeping perspective, a washed up Marg gets whacked.Comment

it makes sense in some ways for both fighters (if margarito's confidence isn't as shot as it appears to be.)Comment

I know Pac's def is not that solid but to say it's terrible is dumb. Pac has been hit when he was asking for it. In Clottey and Cotto fights, he was begging to be hit to give some of his. In the ones he didn't want to get hit, the ones who were willing to punch and not just run around or turtle down, Diaz, Dela Hoya, Hatton, we all know what happened to them.. all KOs and connected 50 as to 5 punches by the opponent per round! Not a terrible defense isn't it??Comment
