If the fight went more than 6, he'd have been in trouble. But since he put him down 3 times in the second, and finished him off in the third it's safe to assume he's at least on his way back to where he was.

That being said. I want him to fight Brandon Rios and knock his azz out for the shyt he was talkin... Good fight for the fans. Good fight for Vic. And if he knocks Rios out, it would be a good fight for me.

Ortiz is a ******. He had a good performance but his interview with Larry was hilarious. I was born and im gonna die. He said something dumb like that. He's weird. Good **** though from Vic. He said he wants Maidana 2. Interesting.

When the question is asked of him, then we will know the answer.

He's been forced to do some soul-searching, and the signs are very good so far. The Maidana fight could turn out to be a hugely valuable lesson that could serve him very well in future.

If he gets a title shot, he knows how deep he has to dig now, and contrary to poular belief you can develop intestinal fortitude.

It is a mental hurdle you must climb, based on confidence, self-belief, and MATURITY. Lets see what the kid can come back with. He had that fight in the bag, how many times you think hes kicked himself over it?

He got back in the ring, and said he wants another chance to walk through adversity..... that in itself goes a small way toward redemption in my book.

War heroes have recounted tales about how they froze/hid, and sometimes even ran, from their first battle..... albeit often as a youth or very young man.

I doubt that. Ortiz knows he fought the wrong fight and didn't adjust against Maidana, he looked very focused and patient against Harris.

Remember, Maidana saw just as much of the canvas as Ortiz did in that fight.

He was, and will forever be, exposed from that fight as good but lacking in some areas.

he can make improvements, but there is no excusing what happened in the Maidana fight.

We always knew he was talented, it is "will" and "mentality" that has been a question mark.

I never believed you could learn heart and toughness. Something that Ortiz doesn't have.

Khan has it IMO he just doesn't have the chin, Alvarez the jury is still out but he showed a little bit in the Cotto fight. Ortiz plain and simple doesn't have it and going on a senior citizen tour that he has been on won't never improves something that IMO you could never learn anyways.

He could a trillion baby steps but he just doesn't have the heart nor toughness and I really don't think he ever will.

Just because Duran quit against SRL doesnt mean everyone could make him do it. No other fighter at 140 has the toughness Maidana has and they wont be able to push Ortiz to the same point Maidana did.

Even when he stood across the ring from Harris during the introductions, it was the first time I'd seen him with that same fire in his eyes since the Arnaoutis fight. Whereas against Maidana, one could tell - in hindsight - that something was troubling him (which turned out to be those arguments with his family).

I take a shit on those who dissed Ortiz after the Maidana loss. Fuck every one of you - seriously, get screwed in the ass. This kid is cool, has a great outlook on life, is a happy guy, and can fight like a cold-blooded killer. Again, fuck all the haters. At least I never gave up on Vic when he was down.

I think Vic is the best at 140 to be honest. the only fighter that can beat him is bradley.. bradley is the no1 guy at 140 for now.. ortiz would beat alexander.. i really cant see why every1 is high on him.. hes OK..
