NSB: How would you score this hypothetical fight?

Fighter A and fighter B landed the same amount of punches throughout the fight.

Now let's breakdown the types of punches.

    Fighter A's punch stats

    -Overall Punches: 300/800 (38%)

    -Jabs: 100/300 (33%)

    -Power Punches: 200/500 (40%)

    Fighter B's punch stats

    -Overall Punches: 300/900 (33%)

    -Jabs: 70/450 (16%)

    -Power Punches: 230/450 (51%)

Fighter B outlanded Fighter A in 6 of 12 rounds. Fighter A outlanded fighter be in 5 of 12 rounds and the last round was a tie for punches landed with fighter A landing at a higher percentage.

By looking at these numbers who won this fight.

There's a point to all this I'll discuss later if nobody has figured it out yet.

impossible to tell. You can't judge a fight strictly by stats. How many of those punches were pity pats? How many actually hurt the other guy? etc etc etc

In the pros stats only tell half the story.

Just based off these numbers though, in what the naked eye would call a very close fight, who would you score it for?

fighter B, power punches in my mind count more than jabs, also since b threw 100 more hits, I would assume he was the agressor in the fight, thus being more active and looking the more dominant fighter in the fight

Exactly, I need to see the fight and who is being more effective and who is controlling the pace of the fight.

Besides its scored round by round not total stats.

Personally I'd go with A, the reason being that due to him throwing less punches and landing a good number of jabs it would suggest his ring generalship is better and he controlled the fight a little better..... also his defense would have been better avoiding 600 punches.... people forget defense and ring generalship are ways to score rounds.... fighter B was clearly getting peppered with jabs on the way in and when he got in the exchanges were obviously quite close too
