jr isnt ready for an elite fighter but cotton is in no way any longer an elite fighter.a guy that cannot convincigly beat clottey, that takes 3 knees to margs, that gets beat up by a flying midget, and barley escapes another loss to a pastor with 3kos because the guy broke his foot ,ISNT AN ELITE FIGHTER BROS> 10 yrs ago cotton was elite , just like roach said he was better when he had his hair.

I'm not even going to break down all your incorrect assertions but I'll leave your total lack of boxing knowledge at this: Where exactly was Cotto 10 years ago?

is funny how Mexico is a huge country compare to PR island and out of all those (mexican) boxers most of them don't make it, and the ones that do end up making it big have more losses then wins. Puerto Rico is a small Island that produces legendary champions. They give bigger countries a run for their money.

The only way that Chavez gets Pacquiao, only if he gets pass whoever he's fighting next and then if he can get pass Cotto next year which I doubt, then maybe i can see him fighting Pacquiao but I don't think Arum is that ****** he Knows Pacquiao will kill him. Besides who has Chavez fought for him to get that fight?

What has margocheato done to deserve a shot at pacman? last time i checked, the fight is happening... so i wouldnt be so surprised, i do agree chavez aint ready, he will never be...
They realized that chavez would have his 1st loss cause even though cotto aint the same, he still represents danger for him. that why he ducked him.

Boxingfan76, pls do us all a favor and GTFO, get a girlfriend, or find another hobby like scrap booking or something cause clearly u have 0 knowledge, i dont think u even believe the crap that comes out of ur mouth.

seriously whats up with all the racist remarks.puerto rican and mexicans are great fighters from gomez to sanchez chavez to trinidad marquez, barrera, morales, arce, margarito, etc. and puerto rico calderon, morel, cotto, juanma etc. Both nationalities bring good fighters just stop with the racist remarks so margarito beat cotto cheating or not he took cottos best punches too and cotto didnt move his ass. why cant we talk about boxing without bringing race in to it.

It's not a racial thing man. LOL everyone makes everything so personal. It's true Puerto Ricans do have a high concentration of world class fighters. Puerto Rico also has a higher per capita income than almost all Latin American countries i.e. more resources to train and develop fighters. Talented Puerto Rican fighters like American fighters are usually discovered at a younger age and they tend to have better training from earlier in their career. They also tend to have a more clear path to the top and aren't forced to fight top opponents until later in their careers. That is not the case in alot of Latin American countries. Lastly there is two traditional major sports for Puerto Ricans, baseball and boxing and most resources seem to go that way. While in countries like Mexico and the Philippines there is few if any resources going towards programs for sport in general. I think the fundamental difference between Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters is the way they look at their champions. Puerto Ricans tend to prefer explosiveness and skills while Mexicans prefer mentally tough rugged fighters. It's a reflection of the societies, Mexico is more poor and has always been more of a working class socialistic society while Puerto Rico is more Artistic, capitalistic etc...
