Also what would be reason for it?? Is it injuries or trainers ideas to have the strong side forward for tactical advantage?? If so, doesnt that make the converted southpaw a one handed fighter???
The reason is the technical advantage in most cases. You don't see a lot of action against southpaws coming up and most fighters are use to conventional orthodox fighters. The southpaw stance gives you a different look and different angles for punches that your opponent will not be use to defending.

The "strong side forward" is also a reason, but not as big as the tactical angle I believe. I may be tripping, but I think that Oscar is actually left handed but converted to conventional orthodox. That's why his left hook ****d people.

That being said, did oscar ever developed a good right hand/right hook, upper cut???

I can see that in boxing the forward side gets the most amount of action but a flip side to it, due these guys in a long run that convert become one handed fighters due to there strong side getting more action and the weakside remaining weak and vunerble to keep the guy at bay with the left hand or in oscars case a right hand???
