williams had martinez moving up on short notice when they first fought and now he has him moving down. kinda lame for a guy who has no title, doesnt bring a lot of money and is a high risk fight to begin with.

    WAR MARTINEZ!!!
if martinez agrees to the catchweight, who gives a sh/t about it? people are over exagerating the catchweight...if it was a big deal, and makes a big difference, then martinez (or any other boxer) should say no to catchweight.

Both guys are natural 154 pound fighters. How you know Martinez didn't ask for a catch weight.

            don't be fooled by this.

Timothy Bradley vs Marcos Maidana was also announced on HBO,

but we all know the fight was far from signed.

Bout time. Why is there a catchweight for this fight? I wonder if they will be as much outrage as their was for Pac.

                Doubt it.

Agreed. Just fight the dude at 160. As much as I like this fight this catchweight crap for titles has got to stop.

I think its fairly obvious that Williams asked for the catchweight. His promoter has been going on about how he gives up too many advantages to "bigger guys". Even though they requested the first fight to be at 160 to try to give Paul an advantage.

Also Martinez was willing to go down in weight to appease Angulo. So he'd obviously do it to finally get Williams in the ring.
