One of the greatest P4P fighters of all time

      /tale.

Based solely on the challenging level of opponents he's faced, coupled with the fact he's one of the greatest pugilists and boxing technicians ever. There is no argument against that.

I think he has a good chance against pascal if he can bring the level hes had a few years ago, if not then i think he may get caught too much. Pascal is not like calzaghe workrate wise who fairly easily outworked hopkins, if hopkins makes pascal fight his fight he wont look anywhere near as exhaused as he did against calzaghe and could pull it out

At the end of the day froch beat pascal so if you think about that they you realise hopkins could win, why not

legend? the best mw in history? for what? starting out as a lightheavy, scaling down to middle and feasting on a s**t division?

if he beats pascal AND dawson, i'd be somewhat impressed...but it would be a natural lightheavy with 3 wins over natural lightheavys over a whole career...nothing more, nothing less...

It would be another sad day in boxing when a dirty fighter uses his extensive bag of tactics to beat a better and younger opponent. Another upcoming star spoiled by the dirty part of the sport.
HOP legacy is not in play as His category of the best "OTG Club Fighter" has not been created.

not to mention the fact that pascal is gonna fill the arena...only people hopkins is bringing is nasa000, secondsout and street bully....without a draw opponent, hopkins is back to fighting in the lobby of the blue horizon...

It would be nice as far as title goes and what it would look like on his resume. But Pascal is not that highly rated or looked at as being on the verge of elite. So the win would be great for a 46 yr. old but when the opponent is looked at it will not give Hopkins that big of a boost.

BHOP has done SOOO much that this fight wouldn't really add to it.
I have to agree with some posters here; beating Pascal would be a "good" win, but nothing great. IMO, although Pascal fought a good fight against Dawson, it was a fight against a VERY distracted Dawson.

My actual point is, BHOP should have fought the real title holder at the time (Dawson) and in recent years BHOP avoided Dawson...too much risk, not much reward.

Fastfoward, now you have Pascal, with the title, with the backing of Montreal, there is more money involved and, with all respect, a more beatable opponent for BHOP.
BHOP jumped on it...So does this improve his legacy? Sure, he'll get belts. Maybe if he beats Pascal and Tavoris Cloud. But the real fight in my mind was Dawson vs BHOP.

Not knocking on Pascal...either...just my observation.

Beating Dawson before Pascal got to him would have been a far greater achievement.

Could be a great win depending on how the fight goes. If Pascal fights Hopkins like he fought Dawson, by keeping his distance and jumping in and out fast, if Hopkins can beat Pascal with that style, I think its a great win, because I dont think that style is easy to beat, especially for Hopkins with his age, being slower and him not being used to fighting someone that fights him like that. Pascal aint gonna stand in front of Hopkins like he did with Froch at least I dont think he is, if he did then this could be a really good fight.
