if you really want to hit somebody while hes down, please do it like Abraham or Roy Jones. *** him up...both were desperated when they did it. Gamboa also was a bit desperated at his last two fights cuz the pressure coming from these guys was not easy to handle.
Gamboa also punched after a knockdown vs Barros (props to cubano11)

but the fact all those guys hit while someone was down udnerline their will to win. I know its not fair and dangerous for the fighter whos down cuz hes not awaiting a punch.Comment

i was crappin my pants. One of the sites i go to has lock picks section and that was one of them so i bet a nickel on it. thought it was locked then seen that punch and thought i lost it right thenI was shocked Cortez didn't DQ him (on Saturday). I think the only reason he didn't was because of the Soto debacle.
It was funny because as soon as the fight started and I saw Cortez was the ref, I turned to my friend who doesn't watch boxing that much and I said, "oh man, this is a horrible ref. I bet something controversial will happen." Sure enoughComment

The Soto fight with Lorenzo was a co-conspiracy to prevent SOto from fighting Pacman later that year.I was shocked Cortez didn't DQ him (on Saturday). I think the only reason he didn't was because of the Soto debacle.

Joe Cortez and Nevada's Keith Kizer wanted Soto to lose, cause Oscar wanted to fight his cach-cow in a FIXED FIGHT.
Besides, Cortez (a puerto rican) is biased towards Mexican fighters.
When Pac hit JMM after the 3rd knockdown in their 1st fight in 2003, while JMM was already down, Cortes did not take a point away from Pac.
Thats why the judge purposely scored the first round a 10-7, instead of a 10-6, because he was being generous to JMM, and compensating for Cortez failure to take a point away from Pac.Comment

Must be biased against white fighters since he was horrible in the Calzaghe/Hatton fights, but he could have been paid off to do some shadey officiating. The Soto fight with Lorenzo was a co-conspiracy to prevent SOto from fighting Pacman later that year.
