To me, if you're getting beat down the way Martinez was doing to Pavlik in those last rounds consecutively, it's a beat down whether it was competitive before that or not. Cotto-Pacquiao and Cott-Judah were competitive for some of the first halves, when do you start calling it a beatdown?

the 1 fight he didn't have to pull out the switchblade....pavlik was too slow at that weight anyways...
still, i'd be impressed if he mugged/mauled or took a cruiserweight to school...

for the record, pavlik's a good fighter...not great, but he was able to beat taylor twice, something hopkins failed to do...plus win or lose, he's never in a dull fight...he gets my respect for fighting equally sized men, as well as moving up two divisions and challenging a natural lightheavyLast edited by djtmal; 09-14-2010, 02:38 PM.

And for the record Hopkins beat the socks off of Pavlik. Clean, no dirty tactics needed.
Didn't even have to use his weight advantage. It was all skill.

yeah he has skills against slow fighters out of their weight division..., but put him in there with someone his size and talent and its a different story...pavlik must be hopkins biggest triumph in boxing...pavlik...who we all know is a cut below elite b fighter....pavlik...lol
