What top boxers are the best role models for children?

I chose Manny, Vitali and Ward. I understand that all three men have what I consider faults (Manny has cheated on his wife, Vitali used steroids as a teenager, Ward is against ****sexuality) but they are all great fighters, highly intelligent, wise, and most importantly I believe that they are humanitarians.
I didn't see Wlad there. Yeah, it would seem that Wlad is a pretty flawless role model. I can't remember him ever saying or doing anything inappropriate, his rise from the ashes after 3 KO losses early in his career to becoming one of the great heavyweights of all time is awe inspiring. He's a doctor, a philanthropist, never involved in scandal...yeah, Wlad would seem to me to be the best role model for children in the sport. I'm envious of Ukraine to have such an ambassador.Last edited by RimmyDelicious; 09-14-2010, 09:45 PM.

IMO, if they are looking at boxers to emulate, they are already in trouble.

Bernard Hopkins is a former convict and I'm pretty sure he has brain damage, so I don't know how anyone could consider him a good role model.
Honestly, if I had a son, I'd want him to look up to someone like Manny Pacquiao. Dedicated, hard working, respectful, all of those traits and many more are good things for a man to possess.
