I give him a very good chance of beating Pascal be it in a dull manner, but ppl will complain about his tactics afterwards even though they should have expected it.

Struggling with Taylor 2x, losing to an old Calzaghe in disgraceful fashion, the Winky Wright fight (ouch)... and making a career out of fighting blown up WW's makes him an ATG?

Oh yeah, he lost to Roy Jones.

          What a legend.

Bhop is an all time great. However, prime for prime....Roy wins 5/5. He was merely too much with his speed, effective counter punching and precise placement of his shots. People underrate Roy in those terms and Hop couldnt deal with Roy's attributes. Remember, Roy was not in his prime in 93 either, but the 93 fight is more revealing of who would have won multiple fights between the two moreso than the rematch, they both looked like nonsense in that fight.

You yourself said Hopkins dominated Taylor and was robbed twice. Also Hopkins won the Calzaghe fight in all ringside scorers opinions. A lot of us think Hopkins won that fight. Also he lost a close fight to Jones and swept the final four rounds after figuring Jones out. Pitty, it was not a 15 rounder also.

And, that Roy Jones was what? A cagey veteran? Both were rated in the top 10 at MW. When the MW division had good talent.

Anyways, Hopkins is an ATG. However, I disagree with RWK in that Hopkins beat any MW in history. But, make no bones about it Hopkins is clearly a top 10 ATG in the MW division. A division that has a long rich history. And, B-Hop is a borderline top 50 ATG. Arguably in the top 50. His greatness can not be questioned.

I never said he dominated. I said the fights were close and could've gone either way. ATG's don't struggle with Taylor.

He definitely lost the second fight.

Of course YOU thought he beat Calzaghe, how I don't know, but when a guy fakes low blows to buy time he lost the fight.

All of his notable wins are against famous boxers from lower divisions. He beat oscar who is a career welterweight & was moving up from junior welterweight. He beat a undefeated felix trinidad who only had one fight at middleweight before facing hopkins.

People want to complain that pacquiao is a catchweight king when he only had one catchweight fight vs miguel cotto, well....

Bernard is the true king of catchweights,

catchweights vs oscar de la hoya, winky wright, & kelly pavlik. Even his other notable win vs a on his way to washed up antonio tarver has to be re evaluated. How great of a fighter will tarver end up? Not great at all. What were the circumstances surrounding the fight? Tarver had to lose so much weight after filming the crappiest rocky film of them all.

When bernard stepped up to fight his next classy opponent, he makes another fighter move up in weight joe calzaghe. What happend there?

He got slapped around & faked another one of his famous phantom injuries.

Beranard "Soapy" Hopkins, not as great as we think.

                      ..................................................
