Can't Defend Floyd but...
There are many of us who grew up witnessing domestic violence either being personally affected at home or just witnessing it around our enviroment.
Thank God I never had that **** going on in my house as a kid and even though I can get into some heated arguments with my I don't hesitate to pick up my cars keys and leave for a while.
But in the profession in which I work I deal with domestic violence on a regular basis. And even though a victim is a victim I put them in two different categories.
The first victim is the one who suffers everyday. You know the one that has the husband with the substance abuse problem and can do nothing right. She gets beat on a regular basis and has no support system to help her out. On some occasions she ends up killing her husband out of desperation because she can't take it anymore.
The second victim is the mutual combatant. The one that "pushes the buttons" if I may say. The one that gets some satisfaction in belittling her man with words and embarrassment. This type of victim forgets about the consequences of what could happen after she decides to "ignite the wick".
I don't know what exactly happened in the Floyd incident. But if Floyd did beat this girl's ass I'm willing to bet that before any blows were thrown there was a lot of jaw jackin' like two dudes in the corner arguing about a dice game.
I'm not defending Floyd on this one but just as Floyd should had picked up his keys and left we need to look at what she could have done differently to prevent this whole situation.
