If you actually go back and see someone like Sonny Liston fight you'll see that he's about as good as Travis Walker.

None of those old time Hw's would be able to compete with either Klitschko.

    Imagine Frazier Klitschko?

    lol...
Sonny Liston about as good as Travis Walker...........

What i bolded above is your opinion, it doesn't mean it's right.

I partly agree with it though, the Klitschkos would be competitive with the likes of Frazier, Foreman, etc because they are great fighters but at the end of the day thats all fantasy matchups.

The point is Ali actually faced and beat these guys while Wlad beat good but lesser fighters. It's not a myth, its the truth.

Bit of an odd comparison I think. Wlad's more similar to someone like Louis. Louis fought in what was perceived as a weak era, and never really had the sort of nemesis that Ali did yet made up for that with the sheer dominance of his title reign. Wlad will likely never have a single defining opponent, or the sort of fight that will capture the worldwide public's imagaintion and cement his name in their memories, but he can make up for that by continuing to dominate all challengers in the way he's doing.

With Ali fans, as well as Rid**** Bowe fans, nailing them down on the mythical prime is almost impossible.

They fail to realize that Ali was faster in the 60's but had a weak chin, then they struggle to comprehend that in the 70's he got stronger and put on the pounds, but his quickness and reflexes were much slower. They talk about Ali as if he had both the quickness of the mid 1960s with the chin and durability of the mid 70s, he never had that. If Foreman was as smart in the late 70's as he was in the early 90's he would have killed Ali, unfortunately fighters dont work that way.

Watch Liston and see how plodding and basic he is.

I stand by my remarks. The "Golden Age" of hw's is totally overrated and overstated.

Ali won a series of great fights against great fighters with great performances. Wlad hasn't got those kind of opponents, but he does look good and near unbeatable against less-than-great opponents.

We're talking about 8 months which is a long time for a 20/21 year old.
He was maybe a little superior but not as much as you claim. I think it's more a case of styles making fights. Liston's style was perfect for Ali's style, whereas he found Cooper's style more difficult to solve, even though Liston would have decimated Cooper. Styles make fights.

Come on man, Travis frikkin' Walker? At least compare him to someone vaguely similar in style like Mercer.

Liston is slow and basic as you say but is still better than argueably everyone on Wlad's resume.

Maybe "the Golden Age" of heavyweight's is overated, but it doesn't change the fact that fighters at heavyweight were better then.

I'm not trying to discredit Wlad because i totally admire how good he is and what he has been able to accomplish but the heavyweight's of today just don't match up to the fighters Ali faced.

I'll admit i thought Wlad looked great on saturday, but Peters is far from being Joe Frazier.
