Negotiations have stopped for Anthony Mundine to challenge WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzage in Cardiff, Wales on September 10. The management of the former WBA 168 pound champion Mundine would not agree to have the Australian being promoted in four of his championship fights (options) if he was successful in taking the crown from the Welshman. Mundine was very impressive in a losing a twelve round decision to WBA super middleweight champion Mikkell Kessler in Sydney last month in what experts regard as the Aboriginal's best ring performance.

Ridiculous. Worse than Don King. Warren demanded options on FOUR FIGHTS after Mundine beat Calzaghe?

I like Mundine a lot and I also believe that Calzaghe's time is up, if they fought I wouldn't be suprised if Mundine won. Calzaghe is 33 now FFS, his time has been and gone, he's an old man now.

I doubt its Calzaghe's fault, the most a fighter normally wants is a rematch clause.

Personally i think they should fight Kessler, you may aswell go for the WBA champ instead of someone who's just lost. Calzaghe's a really good fighter and anyone who says his record is padded are just showing their lack of boxing knowledge, he's beaten some very good fighters. BUT IMO he's going the wrong way at the moment(last couple of years), he's only got a few fights until he should retire, he needs to fight Kessler, Lacy and the Jones/tarver winner, thats how he should leave the sport, he's rich so he should go for legacy rather than easy payday.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Mundine fight not going through... Calzaghe would have hammered him anyway. Calzaghe has bigger fish to fry at this stage of his career.

People say that Calzaghe is afraid etc, but in the last 7yrs he's offered to fight almost everyone from RJJ to Hopkins to Tarver to Ottke, He's made several offers to EACH of them and has agreed to fight in their backyard, but none of them will give Calzaghe a fight.

Why?.... Because Calzaghe is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! They know that he hits VERY hard and he'll make every fighter work 3 minutes of all 12 rounds. But most of all, there's a more than likely chance that these fighters would have or will got knocked out.

There are no robberies on the scorecards in Britain, it's in Europe where the robberies occur (Collins V Kalambay in Italy was a diabolical decision, so was Reid V Ottke in Germany)
