He got buzzed by a few left hooks and some body shots. He wasn't backing up for the hell of it.
He was re-setting because Salido was getting some counters in.
It seemed to me though at times if he stepped it up and sat down on his shots more he could have had Salido out of there early but rather was just dancing throwing flashy arm punches.

Salido walked through a lot though. I think Gamboa was doubting he could ko him but thought he could win easy boxing.

IDK, I thought Gamboa could have done much better than he did tonight even in winning.
It would be different if I thought he gave it his all but just seemed to do enough to not only win but keep Salido out of the fight without going that extra mile to give fans something to remember.
The undercard was much better, I like that Brandon Rios kid, he is like a LW Angulo.

I was disappointed too but Gamboa basically said Salido kept coming.
He is way too raw. I honestly don't think he can improve that much either. The way he fights just doesn't allow him to have great D and I think Juan Ma would cut him up.
Are you padding your record by picking favorites or you getting lucky with your dogs?
The only ones I won were when I bet on favorites, Wlad, Sergio, Couture......all of my other ones were underdogs or on favorites to stop someone by a certain amount of rounds.
