If your work offers you a salary of ** for a year... and then changes it...

And then they employ a new member of staff, and then your boss then says, hey, we have a new guy, and can't afford to pay you that amount so take a pay cut.

You gonna be pissed right? Or will you be a bitc h and say OK?

So why ***** that Khan is wanting what he has been said to be paid?

Not only is it his money, it is in his contract.

Yes Comparing Prize Fighting to my work is EXACTLY THE SAME! Way to fit your criteria! Khan is a spoiled baby who gets his confidence from his I.T support loser nerds on twitter. If he talked like he does on twitter in the ring then it would be one thing but he doesnt. I hate the state of boxing, people without resumes are acting like Egyptian Kings asking for EVERYTHING and wont give away ANYTHING. Exactly why people dont like this boy wonder. Hes going to be protected because they know he cant take a punch so they will MILK the UK/****** public for as long as they can! If UK is swallowing the Haye Vs Audley fight like Haye Swallows his boyfriends seeeeman then they will swallow ANY khan fight!

If you don't like his fights then don't watch it.

Khan may be spolit, but the fact is, he has a contract. Prize fighting is his job so what the **** you on about?

Again, if you don't like what he does then leave him be. He never told you to watch him or hate him.

Come on man you sound like a manager.

As a newcKhan fan who is starting to appreciate his talents. I would be highly dissapointed if he doesnt fight Maidana.

Its Maidana or bust. Time to fight someone who can test his chin.

Khan will stop Madaina no doubt in my eyes.

          He just wants his money.

He also is co promoting his fights I believe so of course he has a choice on money talk.

Khan's chin may be tested, but Maidana has faced guys who are not on Khan's level.

This is boxing, power doesn't mean you will get a KO all the time, but skills, well I bet on skills over anything mainly.

          Edit:
So if a fighter wanted a gurantee of 20 mil, it's OK? If no gurantee, then he doesn't fight?

I believe it was Hitman932 who recognised what was going on at the time GBP signed Khan.

You offer a boxer a big contract. The contract is big so as to ensure the boxer signs for you over Arum or anyone else, however it's so big that it guarantees paydays above and beyond what the boxer is worth. When the time comes for him to fight, you then explain to the boxer that he'll have to accept less than his guaranteed amount, because if he doesn't, the fight will not turn a profit and therefore there is no point in the promoter staging the show. Faced with either a smaller payday or a potentially long-term period of inactivity, the boxer agrees to make less than his contract states.

Khan has a legal right to ask that GBP honour the deal they signed with him. But the reality is that he's unlikely to get that amount because at present he doesn't generate that much money. If Khan refuses to fight for less than his minimum guarantee then I think he'll find it very hard to find an opponent anytime soon.

He needs to fight Maidana or Ortiz, someone who can punch BIG.

That said, Maidana is in no position to be making demands of the champion he should rightly get paid the biggest payday of his career although remember that Khan got $1.1 Million for his fight against Paulie and Malignaggi got $400,000.

I don't know how much Maidana is asking for but Khan is guarantee'd atleast a Million dollar payday each fight from Golden Boy not including UK money (I don't think) so since HBO put up $1.5 million for Khan-Malignaggi that the most Maidana would get is $500,000 so Khan would have to take a purse cut or take some money out of the UK pot to meet Maidana's demands (if HBO are putting up $1.5 million they may be putting up more or less)

                Very good points he made.

I guess promoters are two faced as usual.

The reason is that fighters are SPOILED. Instead of fighting the best anytime anyplace they are so shielded and pampered to think they are the best that they will never give away ANYTHING. If the diffirence is 100k does it really matter to Khan? I thought he HATED Maidana and is gonna **** him up? If i was a fighter like that and I know i can beat maidana for 100k less than what I would make fighting bums I would do it since that win will increase my portfolio and increase my RATES.

Its a +EV move taking less money now but fighting GOOD FIGHTERS because it will increase your stock.

Hell people wouldve fought Tyson for free just for a chance to be known if they beat him and raise their money

Will Maidana really test it though? i doubt he will even land

Someone like Ortiz would be a better test
