I hope Amir fights in the US then.

It will almost certainly have to be in the US because there is a much larger purse on offer from HBO if it's in the US than there is if it's in the UK - and if it goes to purse bids, the largest bid always wins, end of story. Khan wanted it to be in the UK so that he could fight in front of his own fans, but he always knew that there would be less money on the table if it was in the UK - GBP stated that explicitly. If it goes to purse bids, he'll have no say in the venue, it will just go to wherever the most money is.

If you think it's outrageous that he should ask for and be given what he's entitled to under the WBA's published rules then you're delusional as hell. Especially after he'd been Khan's mandatory for more than a year.

The fact that his first full title fight is also his biggest payday so far is no surprise. That's the case with the vast majority of boxers.

What is absolutely outrageous is that Khan tried to hoodwink him into taking less than he's entitled to, and then lied to the press, claiming that Maidana wasn't his mandatory, when he was, and pretending he was making unreasonable demands, when he was only asking for what he was entitled to.

No more like a fight getting what he earned,not what is just giving to him...Khan may have been getting more money before,the guys he was fighting brought nothing to the table Maidana does...He brings power for Khans chin and he also has that inte champ strap...He deserves what he is asking for...

We'll have to wait and see.

Khan is capable of outboxing Maidana to a UD, or stopping him in fact -
(Maidana doesn't have the best chin, and Khan hits fast enough, and hard enough to knock him down a few times).

On the other hand, Khan's chin hasn't been tested since the Prescott fight, and he will need to watch out for Maidana's wide looping power shots. If he doesn't it could be an early night for him. However, the later the fight goes, the more it will play in to Khan's hands. Maidana doesn't have great stamina, and if the fight goes past 6, Khan's jab is going to rip through Maidana's lax guard and do some damage. If I was Maidana, I would go for broke in the first 6 rounds, because he will not beat Khan in a boxing match, and will not have the stamina or speed to keep up with Khan after the mid-way point.

I have this a 60-40 fight in favour of Khan. His chin is still a huge question mark. I don't want him to trade with Maidana, but I would love it if he took a few good shots and didn't show any signs of being seriously hurt. Because Amir Khan with a good defence, and decent chin, is p4p material.
