I don't hate Khan. He can be likable, but it's easy to make fun of him and not feel bad about it.

HBO need to invest some more money into this fight. If Khan can't earn what he is contractually entitled to, then Golden Boy need to step up.

Personally, I wouldn't take a $300,000 pay cut out of my own money to fund a challengers purse. It would be great if Khan negotiated a new contract that allowed Maidana to be paid 45%, but people can't blame him if he refuses. This is a job for the promoters to sort out.

that is a gbp problem not hbo. gbp is who guaranteed khan 1 million per fight. so when the money is not there, it is their responsibility to live up to their contract and find the way to complete their fighters money. maidana has no reason to give up any money that he is entitled to

Khan is a true warrior... a twitter warrior. I don't know what makes either fighter think they deserve more then the other, i honestly believe they are at the same stage of their career at this point, both are trying to make a name for themselves. At least Maidana is trying to make the fight happen.

If anyone is confused about whether Maidana is in the right financially or whether he's being greedy etc. According to WBA rules. When the interim meets the champion, the split is 45% to the interim, 55% to the champion.

You can look this up and see all the other examples at other weights when this has happened, and also here from last time Maidana Khan went to bidding, prior to Khan signing with GBP.

If you search on the wbanews site you will be able to find the following from when the it first went to purse bids.

HBO offered a total purse, that doesn't allow for Khan to get what he wants and at the same time pay Maidana get 45% of that sum. So rather than Khan taking less than his million+ he believes Maidana should take less and accusing him in the press of demanding too much money, saying it's 3x what he's earned before etc, forgetting the fact that he's entitled to it.

To me it seems that Maidana is trying to make this fight happen but team Khan is just looking for ANY excuse to not fight him. They know that he posses a real punch that can KO khan and they cant afford to take another brutal loss. They are trying to milk the ****** / uk population and make as much money as possible.

Amir is a great boxer but to be honest he looks like a boy and I dont think hes fully developed to hang with the men in the division. Thats why they match him up with featherfisters and old small men looking for their last payday.

You khan fans forget that Maidana can do a huge draw in Argentina of up to 100k people, he has been winning his fights and is next in line for the belt. The idea that he's pricing himself out is ridiculous, kinda like david haye rejecting a 50/50 split with klitschko calling it a slave contract because he doesnt get german tv money, which is a joke because the brothers are known world wide as opposed known only in the UK.

Maybe its something in UK's water that the fighters get their balls licked by the media that it gets into their head and they think they are Gods and should have everything go their way when they havent earned it.
