that's because Ortiz chose, yes CHOSE, to fight him toe-to-toe, hence he fought like a ******. Ortiz didn't even attempt to box. If he had, Ortiz more than likely would have won that fight.

On top of this, Khans speed will be like nothing Maidana has ever faced before in his life. He wont even see the punches tagging him in his face.

Khan is clearly the more skilled fighter between the two but he hasnt been matched with a puncher since the ko loss to Prescott and until i see how he handles Maidanas punches i would say the chances of an upset are still very high. This fight will answer a lot of the questions many critics have of Khan and should be exciting all the way through.

I see maidana walking into a tornado of punches, the thing is khan's chin is weak, but maidana still has to land in the right way to knock him out as in he will have to get leverage into it, and not sure khan will let him do that. Maidana has been in with some decent fighters, but nothing like the speed and accuracy of khan, no one has made maidana gun shy at this point but I think khan might, there is also a pretty big height and reach advantage to consider.

The TS makes some good points about ortiz hurting maidana pretty bad, but I don't think khan hits as hard as ortiz, ortiz and khan's punching technique is very different and the way ortiz throws punches allows him to generate more power, he uses more legs, more of a squat stance, and throws better hooks. Whilst khan throws more straight speed shots. The intriguing thing about this fight is that we will truly see who is world class out of these two guys, Khan has to prove he can deal with a puncher, and maidana has to prove he can deal with a guy who possesses world class speed and skills.

Out of all the fights at 140, Maidanna is the easiest for Khan, except maybe Kotelik but thats not because hes a worser fighter, just styles make fights.

Im only intrigued by the fight because i want to see if Khan can hang with a puncher, and if he can, Maidanna will getting beaten up pretty bad.

I really believe when Maidana fights in the US on TV he really gives all hes got and is like a unstoppable warrior.
but tbh, hes looking too much for the knockout which works against some dudes early in their career. so Maidana runs out of gas and needs breaks when he cant knock him out which Khan can take advantage of it and punish him. and Maidana will try again in the UK. hope the fight is in the US.

Khans speed will trouble him, but Khan defense, his movements, could be the key for el chino. while khan moves backwards Maidana can catch him with a big right hand. which will hurt khan mentally and thats Maidanas time.

12 rounds of boxing, he will catch him a sereval times, and once hes gonne be stunned and Maidana have to finish him and cut the ***in ring off. thats his chance

other wise easy going for Khan

.......... So can't see why people can't claim khan to have just as much power as ortiz.

well, you've got to see who were the opponents.

Stats don't prove much in terms of who hits harder, plenty of other factors like opponents and styles have to be taken into account.

I think based on observation that Ortiz is probably the hardest hitter at 140, and Khan though he has power is just a good puncher not really a very heavy hitter.

If Khan had a decent chin, he would kill Maidana.
