Shouldn't that be a good thing? A 4 rounder 2 years ago and now the Middleweight champion. Thats a heck of an accomplishment.
As for the rest of your post; he beat Cintron twice in the same fight and knocked him out in one of those. Against Williams it was a very close and disputed fight which could go either way.
Williams is top 5 P4P and Pavlik was the champion in which Martinez was the underdog.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but didn't Sturm have the opportunity several years back to get fights against the likes of Wright, Hopkins, and Taylor, but turned all of those down? I like Sturm and I'll always root for him because I like his style, but wasn't he also knocked out by Javier Castillejo?

Sergio Martinez, I also like. The general consensus amongst critics and fans is that he knocked out Cintron and then was robbed with a draw against him. If you've seen the fight and then still refuse to admit that much, I dunno what to say to a fan like that. We just won't be able to talk boxing in the future.

And all the Hopkins loss did was confirm what some already suspected of Pavlik; that he can't deal with movement. We saw some of this in his rematch against Taylor.
