WHy doesn't Cotto look for a fight with Martinez or Paul WIlliams?

Arum wants the winner of Chavez/Cotto to face Pacquiao. If Pac fights Floyd, I see Cotto fighting Martinez possibly. He'll never be across the ring from Paul Williams. He's too tall. I know Steward wouldn't let it happen.

Whats the purpose of taking on daddys little girl. All this at a time when he can possibly make a fight happen between himself and either Williams or Martinez in a fight that would mean something.

He will make more money fighting daddy's little girl than fighting Martinez or Williams.

Chavez brigns in more dough than the others. At this point if it aint against Floyd or Marg, Cotto should get as much as he can. I think his window as a big earner is closing.

HBO has been trying to make Martinez/Williams II since Kermit jumped out of the ring. Williams knows he can't beat Sergio though, so he is doing everything in his power to not get that fight, such as asking for MORE than 50/50. Secondly, he doesn't need either guy they need Cotto and they don't offer nearly as much money as Chavez Jr. Third and most importantly as I state constantly on here:

TODD DEBOUFFRUNS COTTO'S CAREER NOT BOB ARUM.

So anyone saying Arum doesn't care about Cotto, it doesn't matter because Todd Debouff(SP?) is the one who has guided Cotto's career. Todd is next in line once Bob retires or keels over, and even by his own admission Bob is the media guy he doesn't run much of anything anymore. He took Chavez because he offers more money than anyone else, its simple if you have a problem with then why do you watch boxing, every fighter does it.

That being said, anyone who thinks Cotto can't beat Sergio is an idiot. The guy can still make 154 and Cotto eats up guys who move backward. Its the same deal as the Yuri fight when people said the style is wrong for Cotto... WTF. Cotto has KO'd almost EVERY fighter who tried to outbox him, the only guy who didn't get KO'd was Paulie and even he got BATTERED in that fight. I can also easily bring up Quintana who fights very similar to Martinez and look what happened that fight. Cotto facing Williams will never happen he can't draw a stick figure much less a crowd and its HIS style that is kryptonite for Cotto not a boxer, anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know their ass from their elbow.

Good post. People here downplay the Foreman win, but if Foreman was not running for his life, he wouldn't have hurt his leg, Foreman knew he could not take Cotto's power. Only haters will put down Cotto or his career. Cotto took on the best and never ducked anyone. He even took on the cheater and did not criticize him even after the plaster incident. Let them hate, when they do, it just shows other posters the real motive. .

Sergio's style has always been the one Cotto has looked great against. Im not gonna say Cotto would definetly win but he has a great shot to win it. Its like ever since he lost to pac and marg cotto has turned into this scrub who is just a paper champ.
