Nah man, the article spits the ugly truth about the state of affairs in America. Imagine what would happen had Pac said some referencing fried chicken or some other stereotypically racist comment to Mayweather. Would the comments still be petty and would the people complaining about it be ****s?

Not trying to start anything only saying that you and I both know Pac would be crucified in the media as a racist. Companies allow racist tendencies and remarks all the time in a one way fashion because they are intimidated by the likes of the NAACP and vocal activists such as Sharpton and Jackson. No one wants to be perceived as a racist yet it is much, much easier for a person of a darker skin tone to get away with being that way in today's culture based on the latent sentiments stemming from the Civil war era. I'm kind of indifferent to it because I believe GOD created all men to be equals...as brothers under one sun. Of course history tells us that power rules and due to that fact and human nature, this racism issue is a big deal. It is so dang ****** to me but who am I anyway?

Very good point. If Kanye had upstaged say Rick Ross at the VMAs, it would've been a rap beef. But him 'victimizing' Taylor Swift is viewed as a b*tch move and he was eaten alive in the media.

Manny isn't viewed as a helpless victim, if anything the media and fans at large view him as someone that Floyd is scared of (whether you agree or not, you can't deny that is not the popular perception). If Floyd had launched a racist/stereotypical verbal attack aimed at Gloria Arroyo, he would've been in deep ****. But Manny is a big boy and he brushed off the video, so right there it took away the potency.

Honestly it wouldn't be that big a deal.

I only ever see people get really offended when a white person is racist to them. The root of that reaction isn't so much in the statement but societies condition. It's hard to lash out on the man who's prejudice deprives you of a job or sends you to jail, it's easy to react to the individual who makes a statement for all to see.

If we lived in a society where racism didn't land people in prison or deprive them of a job and all people were treated equally, racist comments would be no different to any other insult.
