Why are old school fighters from 1900-1960 rated ATG?

Look at the Olympic Records back then and what they are now.

Even tho the athletes are considered ATG by some their records are just SMASHED today. Look at this chart showing 100m record times year by year.

Now you could make the argument that given todays training that those fighters would run faster but thats just assuming they would. Same thing for boxing.
You can also try to explain to me how some of today fighters with all this training and science can barely go 12 rounds are in better shape than fighters who could of gone 15+ rounds?

      Maybe you shout just quit.

A good number of the ATG's fought 15 round fights and fought WAYYYY more than todays fighters and more often with less rest inbetween. Do you have a clue about tthe history of the sport or are just trolling?
This brings my to a good point, just how long does the TS think Miguel Cotto would last in the 15 round era? the mofo cant barely last 12.

Sure cap it wherever you want.

Now explain to me the difference between an elite level fighter in 1961 compare to 1955. You got 6 years to work with evolution.

I do understand where you're going with this, I tried making the same point regarding modern day Heavies a while back. I think some of the modern era fighters above 200lbs would definitely have mowed through some of the old school giants. But that's a different discussion because I'm targeting the guys under 175 lbs who I think were just more vicious.

I mean yeah if you looked at Tyson and put him in with Carnera, Liston, Patterson etc he would have probably decimated them.

Klitschkos would have slaughtered Bayer etc.

Because ALL sports evolve, Cycling, Swimming, Running, Boxing.

They evolve year by year by evolving the sport. Better technique/harder training. Technology is a great tool that shows which technique is the best to use and which is not.

You cant possibly tell me that all these sports have improved 10 fold over the last century along with their athletes but boxing hasnt. The fighters were ATG of their ERAS but not OUR ERA.

Look at the evolution of all sports and you will see that every decade the competitive level goes up and up every time.

See the TS wants to take great fighters from yester year and put them in today environment, lets take fighters of today and put them in 15 round fights, fights where they might not have the supplements, footage of their opponent in preparation for the fight.
