    Hopkins, Tito, Jones:PPV numbers

    I never knew that Hopkins fights did such numbers, his had a serious drop off over the last couple of fights though:

    * Hopkins-Pavlik: 190,000 buys
    * Hopkins-Wright: 305,000 buys
    * Hopkins-Tarver: 330,000 buys
    * Hopkins-Taylor II: 410,000 buys
    * Hopkins-Taylor I: 370,000 buys
    * Hopkins-Trinidad: 480,000 buys
    Tito:
    * Trindiad-Oscar: 1.4m buys
    * Trindiad-Jones: 500,000 buys
    * Trinidad-Wright: 520,000 buys

    Interesting numbers. Hopkins didn't really become a PPV star until the Oscar bout. Prior to that, he had been involved in only one PPV headliner - where he wasn't the draw (Tito). But the Oscar effect shows in those numbers.

          Back then PPV wasn't as prevalent. Oscar-Tito today would do over 2mil buys easy.

            Oscar was a massive star, I wonder if Arum/Golden Boy/King will ever be able to synthesize the magic formula and produce another "Oscar".
