    That's just 1 example, and I'll leave it at that.

    Hopkins is infinitely more diverse. Toney is incredible at what he does/did.. but his arsenal isn't near as deep.
    I agree, B-Hop was a better all around boxer, but was Toney was slick almost by instinct. it seemed natural to him, too bad weight and time caught up to him.

    If he had stayed in top shape like B-Hop this might be a completely different discussion.

        This is a very good question. I think Toney was the more naturally gifted and skilled out of the 2, with his reflexes, defense and inside game was amazing to watch. Hopkins on the other hand tactical ability is next to none, the way he breaks you down phyically and mentally is unreal, i think all round skills, Hopkins takes it by an inch.

          At one time I once said Hopkins, my verdict has changed since then it surely is Toney.

                This still isn't saying anything.

                Toney is still toney ,he's been teh same fighter with the same style his entire career.

                I've seen nard go from a pressure guy to a technician - we've actually seen bhop evolve. No one is arguing who is more effective or who is better, blah blah.

                The question is SKILL.. and hopkins seems to have a more diverse style. He has done things I haven't seen toney even attempt. he's a more well rounded boxer - he has more tools.

                It doesn't make him better or worse, it's just a fact

                    Definitely Toney. Hopkins was more dedicated to his craft though

                      HOP can't compete with Toney's natural skills, but He compensates by knowing every trick on the book and training harder.
                      Toney = Skills
                      HOP = Tactics
