Weak people and followers always focus all their energy on the best. As much as I don't like some of Floyds personal behavior he is still the best. Until somebody beats him and generates as much interest he is the best. When Floyd retiredboxing suffered. The truth is that he is the heart ofboxing right now. Manny is good but he has gotten his ass beat several times. Floyds performance against Shane Mosely was a masterpiece. He made the best welterweight look like an amateur. Floyd just doesn't know how to express himself in a way that mainstream media can appreciate. We all know he's not a racist. He's just a mutha ****a from Grand Rapids who grew up in a family where everyone can fight. Floyd Senior and Roger raised him to be the best boxer and that's exactly what he is. Is he hood? Yes but so what. Some of the greatest contributions in America have come from the hood. Floyd is never going to be the articulate, politically correct token the real racists want him to be. So stop trying to make him something he's not. If you don't like the hood then get the **** back on the other side of the tracks. Floyd is a good father and loves his kids and provides for his family and all the people around him. Stop trying to make him something he's not. Funny how these other fighters who are not from the ****** can get away with drug use (Calzaghe) and wearing skirts (Delahoya) because they are articulate but Floyd because he is hood gets criticized for everything? Who the real racist?

Thanks for your thoughts regarding Alexander/Kotelnik. I agree with you, I thought a lot of Alexanders punches fell short or were blocked by Kotelnik. To me, saying Alexander threw more punches (whether they landed or not) and therefore entitled him to the win, is baffling. Going with that concept, Floyd Mayweather Jr. would have lost several of his fights in his career. He won because he was more ACCURATE in the puches he threw, which is how I saw Kotelnik. I have nothing against Alexander, in fact I like him a lot and expected him to win. But, I like to do what most judges should do and that is be objective rather than subjective. In fights that I have watched in the past that I thought the scores were way off in the wrong direction, I will do like you've done and go back and watch it objectively. In fact, any rounds that are in question or even, I will give to the opposite person (that I really thought won). For example: Shumenov vs Campillo II- I watched it several times, and in rounds that I thought might be questionable or even, I gave to Shumenov. But no matter how many times I watch it, I never could give more than 3 maybe 4 rounds tops to Shumenov.
But, as you said - judging can sometimes be subjective, especially on fight night, when these judges don't have the luxury of going back and actually seeing it objectively.... which begs to question whether some judges are already sitting in a position of subjectiveness (bias) rather than objectiveness (non-bias) coming in to the fight.

.Sometimes what I feel boxing is lacking is a system like all the other sports where they sign a contract and play the game. I know boxing is different, but what I think should happen is something like a contract, a certain amount of money from a network, say HBO signs the boxer for a 5 fight contract for say 2 million a fight, and a percentage of the gate and pay-per-view. So the fighters don't cheat the fans with a lack luster performance the winner of the fight gets the lions share of the pay-per-view so that will have both boxers motivated even more to win the fight. There are ways to make boxing better but I don't think anyone cares because we everyone is already making money with basketball,football, baseball, hockey and so on so they pretty much put boxing on the back burner. Sorry for the long post. Haha, what you guys think of a system like the one I suggested?

It's a good idea, and I'm sure there are other better ways to come up with not cheating the fans out of great fights, however the problem is that the path has already been shown to these promoters and fighters. They have already found ways to get the most reward with the least amount of resistance... Now there's this pattern of "for the right money" and not "I want to give the fans what they want to see", and the outcome many times is that we end up with no fight at all (and they end up with NO money for it, which is silly).

Good article, I watched the Video live and I can honestly say I don't think Floyd even thought about What the hell he was saying he didn't really look as if he was saying what he was saying for attention or to cause trouble or anything.

He was just rambling on talking smack talk for the whole video.
