Khan simply outpoints him or gets a late round stoppage from bruising and cuts to Chino's left eye.

If Khan can jab stepping backwards (ali style), it'll be an embarassing mismatch.

Khan wins UD or 9th rd. TKO (ref stoppage).

One possible scenario is that Khan thoroughly outboxes Maidana and UD's him.

Another possible scenario is that Khan outboxes Maidana until he gasses and scores a late stoppage.

...but the thing is, all of that can change at any time with one punch from Maidana. I'm gonna go with Maidana by KO/TKO cause he holds the "game changer." It's a hard thing to overlook.

It could happen. The thing is though if Khan can avoid that punch the first 6 rounds Maidana will be the one that's gassed late in the fight (like he was against Corley). If he lands the "game changer" late it won't be a game changer. I think it's more likely Khan won't get hit squarely by that punch early.

thing is....Maidana's only chance is inside 5 rounds....where Khan can easily hide behind a shell and save energy....or just use a jab and stay away.

Or even counter with a check hook, which is one of Roach's favorite punches.

With Ariza helping Khan's conditioning, and Roach teaching him basic check hook technique....Maidana has no chance.

Khan knows his chin is shaky, so there's no chance he'll trade like Ortiz. Ortiz easily had the Maidana fight through 5...and Khan will be more careful.

Khan UD...or if he gets feisty...9th, MAYBE 10th rd TKO (ref stoppage, swelling/bruising/cuts to Chino's left eye).

Something I've wondered: What if Khan's chin isn't really as bad as we think it is? It's clear he got rocked by Prescott but that was a damn good punch. How many guys would have survived that?

I'm not the biggest Khan fan but I think he wins this one a lot more comfortably than people think. Sure Maidana has power, and a lot of it, and has demonstrated an admirable determination to win in the past, but he's also horribly crude and very hittable. Ortiz had him down three times in their fight from clean lead hooks, and he's not nearly as skilled as Khan. Were Maidana to possess an iron chin to go with his power I'd give him a much greater chance. As it is, I see him getting horribly worked over and stopped in the mid rounds.

no. it's pretty bad. Prescott had him dancing with two good shots to the jaw.

Thing is....now everyone in Khan's camp knows he MUST guard that glass jaw with his life.

Roach will be teaching him check hooks until he collapses. There's almost no chance that Maidana beats Khan...unless he applies such pressure during rounds 1-4 that Khan folds....highly unlikely.
