    but where have you been?

On here anyone who lost 1 fight was a hypejob

Just look at Jacobs, he lost 1 fight now I guess he will never make anything of himself in the sport according to most of the forum.
Yeah, nobody has ever comeback from getting knocked out. That's the end of the road right there.

It's amazing because you'd think that nobody here has ever boxed. And if they never have that's OK, but to not understand that body shots hurt and take something out of you, whether gradually or with one shot?

That's incredibly ****** and ignorant. If they're going to be fans of the sport, they should at least try understanding and learning about it.

I'm tired of these ignorant ****s.

It's as if these ****s are in la la land, where they can't see body punches landing and if they do they, they don't think it has any effect whatsoever.

Unless the punch doubles an opponent over, they don't thing it has absolutely any effect on them.

How about you ****s start giving their opponents more credit... instead of just saying, "he got old"... or so & so "has no stamina". You should actually know what you're talking about and look at what the opponent has done to make the fighter gas.

How about giving credit for bodywork? Have any of you ****s taken body shots in your lives?

You can train however many months and do whatever amount of sit-ups you want/can, but the shots will still take something out of you regardless. The work you do in the gym lessens the effect it would have done on you if you hadn't, but it does not negate it.

In few cases at the top level (top 20 fighter in a division) can sub-par stamina be blamed on under-training and extracurricular activities, but for the most part these men work their asses off in training camp to get in peak physical condition, no excuses.

This is The Sweet Science, not The Sweet Simpleness. But this is a simple aspect of it that people can't seem to get through their ignorant, rock hard heads.

        Body punch landing=opponent slowing down
good post.....it's as bad as "mosley gassed in the second round. it is ignorant.

          haha.

I remember watching Ricky Hatton's WBU reign of terror when he kept getting 1-punch-body-shot-KO's. My mate turned to me after Hatton had despatched a shopworn Pendleton with a brutal shot to the body and said: 'Why is that guy rolling around on the floor like a p.ussy?'

I would've tried to explain that, but anything involving Floyd doing something good will either get ignored or get logic thrown out and argued about another minor point in the post.

Mosley gassing in the 2nd round is ridiculous, he might've not been sharp due to the layoff, but put that version of Mosley up against Berto and I bet he'll destroy him.

Their logic makes me think that people are ****** because if you keep throwing punches, missing, and getting counter shots either landing or slightly whizzing past your head... what are you going to do? Mosley isn't your normal person, so he's going to keep trying, but punches hurt, even from "pillow punching" Floyd. Guess Mosley didn't think he was a soft puncher.

Add Gamboa-Salido to the list. Gamboa didn't lose, but he sure slowed down because of body work and then you see people saying **** like "Why does he have his hands down?", "Gamboa's stamina sucks" or "Lopez would knock him out".

Watch the fight mutha****ers. It's called body punching, even though it's not clear as in snapping a head back, it's there and it does damage.

I will keep bumping this when there are examples of it. Until then, the ignorance continues.

                  Great thread!!!

I totally agree with you. Body punching is very underrated and is one of the best weapons you can have as a boxer. I can't count the times were I've screamed at the screen for one of my fighters to go to the body. Tonight was a very good example and had Salido invested more to the body I can almost assure you that this fight would have turned out a lot different. The later rounds were reminding e very much of Segura/Calderon the only difference was that Salido is not as aggressive as Segura.

                  Keep on bumping this thread!!

No, he always does that whether he is being hit with body shots or not.

Its a bad habit and I saw many tonight.

                      Good looking out.

I don't agree with the bolded 100% because Salido invested a lot to the body, it's the reason Gamboa looked flat and slower for all the middle rounds and has people jumping off the bandwagon.

The thing with Gamboa though is that he got his second wind again after Salido started head hunting thinking he was softened up enough. If Salido had more pop or kept going downstairs, we would've been seeing an even slower Gamboa with even less movement.

Gamboa getting his second win after Salido's body attack, tells me his stamina is at elite level.
