Okay, he's got the loss to Byrd, but that was largely injuries sustained by beating the crap out of him.

I gather that a lot of people think he's ready to be taken, but maddeningly, he's only defended his title once, and against a rank outsider.

But put all the contenders together and who do you think could do it at present? I believe Rahman lacks skill, Peter lacks speed.

Probably the most likely candidate IMO is Lamon Brewster.

In fact, I'll make it a poll. My answer is 3-5... possibly.
hes so overrated i think these fighters would beat him

    1.barrett
    2.rahman
    3.byrd
    4.toney
    5.peter
    6.brock
    7.brewster

VITALI RETIRED WHILE AHEAD ON ALL 3 SCORECARDS:

        88-83
        89-82
        88-83

it really goes to show how hard up Vitali haters are that they have to bring up a fight in which he kicked byrds ass as a way of talking crap about him. he retired, big deal, there was ultimately nothing riding on the fight and it wasnt worth risking a severe injury. byrd knows he cant beat either KLitschsko, and thats all that matters.

            I agree.

No way in hell James "roids" Toney beats him.

i really doubt gomez could beat klitschko, i can see where he would give him problems, definately more than Byrd or Peter would give him for instance.

that being said, thank god that someone has an opinion of their own on here, its at least nice to read someone's post that says something different than the same old bull.

make him out to be soft all you like.

                the fact remains.

Vit's heart is at least 5 times the size of your brain.

The score don't mean a thing, the end result is all that matters, look at Toney vs. Nunn

i'd say peter, brewster and rahman have the best chances because they have pretty good power.... i dont think brock, byrd, toney, ruiz hit hard enough to beat VK and i believe you will have to be able to hurt him to beat him since he's so big...
