PBF would have never been where is if would have stayed with Arum. Arum doesn't market black fighters to black people. So why should black people support a black fighter or fighters who are not marketed to them? Arum himself said black fighters don't sell. But he hasn't even tried the ****. But are does Latin fury and Pinoy power cards. Always stages these fights where there are large populations of latino and asian people make $en$e.

That was Mosley's down fall he didn't embrace or market himself to black people so he got no support from black simple as that. Once PBF left Arum he targeted the black population and look where that got him. Fighters have to get support and backing from they own before they get from others.

personally, I don't even think it's a act. that is just how floyd is... a scummy, low-life and ignorant douche bag.
coming from Captain Ball swinger i expect a comment like that. Floyd adds a different flavor to our sport just like Ali did. Why the hell does everyone get so butthurt over professional athletes saying or doing **** they dont like?? these people are cartoons to us all and live in a fantasy world. its a giant movie to us all so get over it

At first I thought Mayweather was puttin' on a fake act, then I changed my mind and thought Mayweather was just having a hard time finding himself, then I came to the late conclusion that...this is actually who he is. When he's serious though...we get to see a better side of him.

Floyd acts like a bad man because hes an attention starved whore who lacks self esteem and has an extreme case of Short Man Syndrome.

If he was humble and fought the best and tried to unify all the belts he would be 100x bigger than he is now and would be regarded as all time great even if he lost once or twice that would be way better to have couple wars than to duck everyone to keep your record clean.

I still don't get how he has made it work other than the fact he has jsut been around a long time doing his thing and has managed to get on a lot of peoples last nerve and the fact that no one can shut him up or make him conform just bugs them even more.

I think it is kind of an act because I don't think he wants to be hated but that is the price of doing business for him and he certainly is not a real villian.
Me neither, you touched on some of it though.

I don't think it's an act. I see it as an exaggerated version of himself. The dog eating **** is some type of **** you would joke around about with an Asian friend. It's him, he's just that.

People love Floyd too.... I love Floyd and he is just entertaining as hell in and out of the ring.... You are right about Oscar, but Floyd will always sell over a million from here on out..... he's a very colorful individual and we americans draw to colorful different people.... its different and exciting and no one can say different, unless they are just a true hater.... love him or hate him, we are like moths to a flame anytime he even farts

In other words, Floyd Mayweather is a practitioner of RACIST MARKETING. Thanks for explaining it to us. It may actually be a viable strategy for those who don't mind using racial profiling to target their audience.

I agree with the somewhat exaggerated first paragraph, but the 2nd is all wrong.

He's the 2nd highest paid athlete and 1st in sports (sport salary not counting sponsors) for a reason and it's not just because he's awesomely talented and skilled or his opp.

It's huge part of the reason why he sold over 325K against Gatti, Baldomir, and Judah (coming off of a loss), while being a heavy favorite against all 3. 1 Million after he got exposed to a wider audience against JMM, when the fight got absolutely trashed by writers.

Mayweather couldn't even sell 4K tickets in his hometown after a being the Ring/lineal Champion in 2 divisions. Paul Williams has been facing the best and sold less than 3K against the #2 in his division (Cintron). Mosley couldn't sell 3K against Mayorga in LA close to his hometown of Pomona.

I think it started as an act but as it worked he did it more and this is what he has become. To me you still see the conflict in him in that he knows what works but he still wants the recognition and adoration.

Yea what he said was just ****** sterotypes and he didn't even stick to Phillipino sterotypes he was jumping around Asia.

Floyd should just keep Chris Rock on retainer and have him do his talking for him.

If Floyd loses his "0", not many people will care about him. People like to watch his fights because he has backed up the talking so far, beating all his opponents. Once he's not undefeated, I think people might lose interest. Most people pay to watch him lose.
