Comments Thread For: Schaefer: HBO Pushing To Have Khan-Maidana in America

WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan would love to fight Marcos Maidana in England, but HBO is pushing to have the fight take place in the United States on December 11, says Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. As first reported by Robert Morales on BoxingScene.com, Schaefer made an offer with two possible locations to both fighters, with Detroit and Las Vegas being the frontrunners. Detroit does not feel a good venue for this fight Vegas or the UK seem a better fit.

With this fight in the states, it will definitely make or break Khan. I'll be quite frank, seeing him getting KO'd here would make me chuckle, but at the same time, I'll be happy for him if he succeeds.

Detroit is like fighting in the backyard a la Kimbo style. Las Vegas is the way to go, I'm looking forward to this fight.

Both Pac and Khan are fighting within a month of each other.
                Perfect.

Detroit will have the biggest US attendance to see this fight, so if you want to go for strictly attendance, it's the right place. LOL at these boxingscene punks talking **** about Detroit, yet they have never been here. Come to Detroit and fight infront a pretty big crowd. Go to Vegas and fight infront of 1000 people at the palms lol.
