Who Wins In A Street Brawl?, MMAer's vs. Boxers

Who do you think will win in a street brawl?

An MMA fighter would probably takeout the boxer, but not in a confined situation.

The boxer can actually take the fight, with a mentality to not think he's fighting a 10 rounder, but stepping in immediatley with his fav combinations and throwing that power shot. Lights Out !!!

But in the end, it's the prowess of the individual. A good percentage of MMA fighters ain't got real martial arts skills, except to brawl. Which actually embarrasses the real martial arts practitioners.

I saw an MMA fighter one time challenge a boxer in the same gym, the boxer said he didn't know how to wrestle. So the MMA guy said "**** it then man, let's just do strikes, stand up, fists only." The boxer started laughing then said "only we can use those little gloves you guys wear."

Oh man, that MMA guy didn't know when to quit, the only reason it was stopped after about 4 minutes was because 2 of the MMA's teeth got knocked out and it was pretty bloody everywhere from his nose and mouth. The boxer had a couple of red spots on his face, and that was it.

    WTF?

Boxing vs MMA is realkly really simple

    Boxing rules= Boxer
    MMA rules= MMA

In a street fight the MMA fighter would kille the boxer. Pretty hard to box from your back.

pretty silly question when you consider the all the disadvantages for the boxer:

      - no ground fighting ability
      - no experience against knees, elbows, kicks, arm bars, leg locks, chokes
      - limited experience in clinch fighting(knees)
      - no experience defending against leg kicks or take downs

in a boxing ring though, the boxer rules...

well the mma would probably run straight at the boxer and try to take him on the ground and unless the boxer manage to knock him out on the way in he loses.

its individual, but i most cases the mma`èr would win, mma is just so much closer to a street brawl.

Could you imagine what Wanderlei Sliva would do to any professional boxer. Its really nasty. He would destroy them violently.

these boxers are thought to keep their balance, if it would be a street fight with someone wide like Tyson or Toney I'm pretty sure the boxer would win because they would never go to the ground, if they do it's all over.

this pretty much sums it up. we had some muay thai guys spar with some guys who were experienced golden glove amateurs...it wasn't pretty...lol.

..what do you get when you have a boxer putting his hands down all the time because he keeps getting kicked in the leg? a boxer knocked out...

Really depends on the individual...But I can say with confidence that no one is beating up Tyson, Sam Peter, Hopkins, or Kasim Ouma in a street fight. Tyson because he is clearly insane and he would literally bite your face off if it came down to it. Peter because, well, the dude is freaking huge. Hopkins, because he never "compromised in prison" (seriously, think about that. What's harder to avoid: a rear naked choke or getting ****d in the ******). Finally, Ouma because he was kidnapped and forced into the Ugandan Army at 8 and could not cry because death would be his punishment. Furthermore, he got shot while in America during a drive by. But u guys must remember that MMA does not equate to street fighting. There are no rules preventing anything. Again, it is up to the individual and I do not believe any MMA guys (considering weight class) can mess with these dudes. They seem like they are willing to do anything necessary given any circumstances. A better question to answer this post is: "Who would u rather have your back in the streets?" U can take any Gracie and I'll keep Tyson.

It also depends on the level of competition these guys are. A top notch boxer might do very well against a mediocre MMA fighter and vice versa.
If there's lots of hugging involved, Ruiz can hold his own.

honestly, a street fight with Tyson in his prime is a guaranteed loss, how the **** would you avoid all those punches without gloves? It's not the same as blocking a punch without gloves, you have a huge risk at breaking it. If they try taking him down, a hook to the unprotected rib cage would win the fight with broken ribs.
