Pacquiao has put me off boxing. I love the sport but it's hard to love the sport when you get fighters like Pacquiao who claim to be the best but refuse to fight the best. If you disagree then I will give you plenty of evidence to back up my argument. Margarito isnt the first damaged opponent he's fighting and he won't be the last either. Pacquiao fought Erik Morales after he was dominated by Zahir Raheem, He fought Ricky Hatton after he was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather, He fought Miguel Cotto after he was knocked out by Antonio Margarito and now he's fighting Antonio Margarito after he was knocked out by Shane Mosley.
I can't remember any other fighter getting so much credit for beating damaged opposition. My favorite fighter, Floyd Mayweather Jr is always called a "cherrypicker" on this forum but how many fighters has he fought coming off KO losses? How many catchweight fights has he had? How many vacant belts has he won? Zero. He always moved up and beat the official champion for the WBC belt which was regarded as the best belt, until they sanctioned Pacquiao-Margarito as a world title fight. Now the WBC has lost alot of credibility but back then it was the best belt.
I think the worst thing about Pacquiao is his fake image and attitude. He acts as though Mayweather is ducking him but that's clearly not the case. Pacquiao was offered a 14 day cutoff with a 50-50 split and rejected it. Floyd then said that was off the table and he would demand 60-40 and Pacquiao is refusing to agree to it. But he's still claiming Floyd is ducking him when in reality he is ducking the fight. 60-40 and random OSDT would get the fight done but I don't think Pacquiao will ever agree. He will claim he agreed to boost his image and Floyd will get blasted for "ducking him". Floyd is always looked at as the bad guy but he is willing to prove he is clean and Pacquiao is not. He wants scheduled tests, 14 day cutoff etc anything but the USADA testing up until the fight. Floyd will do whatever test USADA want but Pacquiao is not willing. But Floyd is the bad guy?
This whole thing has really put me off boxing. I still love the sport but the sooner Manny Pacquiao retires and we don't have to put up with his B.S and lies. The better for boxing and it's fans.
