  • What happened to jaidon codrington?

he was an up and coming fighter when he was KTFO by allen green in round 1 I believe. He then went to the contender tv series to got to the final where he faced the dangerous sakio bika. I remember the fight was a war with both men going down numerous times and it being a slug fest and FOTY candidate. Well he lost by TKO/Ko in a late round I believe. After that he hasnt fought once. Has he retired or soemthing? I read on wiki that he owns a couple of gyms so maybe he's quit boxing and making money from training or gym ownership?

He was a decent fighter but his chin was similar to amir khans so it let him down when he stepped up in class.

    Anyone help??

He went to the same place as all the other Coney Island/Havoc Boxing team members.

I don't get how those guys all made it to the highest level in the amateurs, but consistently come up short in the pros. That team is like the Bermuda triangle. Get out while you can, Sadam Ali.

very strange aint it. The problem with codrington was always his chin! He just couldnt take the punches to take him to the top level. He has probably done the right thing and stop fighting whilst he had his health.

yeah his punch resistance was horrible. I think it was the wise decision to stay away from professional fighting. It's too bad because he did have some pretty decent skills, just terrible chin.

after the bika fight he kinda struggled and fought fairly even with some guy who was 8-20 before tko'ing him. good decision to call it a day

Danny Jacobs appears to be the best of that bunch...I think he can bounce back...I heard a rumor he may find some new handlers...

Just goes to show you the pros and amateurs are 2 different things...and the media overhypes NY fighters a little as well...

If Sadam stays focused I think he can contend...I've heard he can give it to Kendall Holt in sparring...

Jacobs is overrated imo. Jacobs lost to Shaun Estrada in the box offs, now Estrada does not impress me at all to be honest, he also just got KTFO by Pirog, for me, everything points to him being a little overrated.

He may be...one thing deff overrated was his punching power...Jacobs did beat the guy in ur avatar 3 times tho but pros/amateurs are different of course...Danny's good at everything but he's not GREAT at anything, nothing stands out...good handspeed, average power, etc.

Those guys did there thing in the amateurs but just ask Mark Breland if that means its gonna translate into the pro ranks...

Joe Greene, Danny, Sadam, Jaidon, Curtis Stevens all did well, some even at the National level...

Joe looked like **** against Vanes and Curtis doesn't train...Joe's my boy tho so I can't get on em too much lol

I think Ali is the best of the group, with the exception of Malignaggi and Collazo who have already made it to a very high level in the pros.

These kids get too comfortable in NY. They live in their own world, and are made to feel like stars before they really accomplish anything.

Again, Luis Collazo aside (Malignaggi is from a different gym, but working there now apparently), if you go through and list every pro to come out of the Havoc team, you'll find a bunch of national amateur champions and Olympians, and all of them have come up short when they step up to fight b-level pro fighters.
