You guys have to understand that the purpose should have been to captivate the fringe fan. You all are hardcores and would have watched smurfs box for a title.

This should have been an "Elite 8" single elimination format completed withing one calander year.

    January

    Match 1 1-8
    Match 2 2-7

    February

    Match 3 3-6
    Match 4 4-5

    June

Match 5 Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 4
Match 6 Winner Match 2 vs. Winner Match 3

    September

    SEMIS

    December

    FINALS
No. The 3-fight guarantee was paramount.

The guy who wrote this should hang his head in shame. It should be entitled 'I told you so'.

Although Showtime as a broadcaster has been absolutely **** (certainly in the UK) I give them proper credit for their centiment. They have tried to pit the best fighters against the best fighters. Given all the leaches in boxing managing to even get the 6 promoters to agree to this was progress in it's self. Showtime have basically said we understand what all the fans want and they at least attempted it.(It probably wasn't Showtimes motivation for organising the event but that doesn't matter). What they have achieved is a glimmer of light in the murky world of matchmaking and promoting. No one in boxing should slam the event because we(the fans) want to see the best v best and showtime achieved that to an extent.

It isn't perfect but when you consider the whole Floyd/Pac situation it puts into perspective what Showtime were attempting..

Thats about where the credit ends though because the execution, planning, groundrules, and every other organizational aspect of this thing has been ****.

For one its too long, for another, the venue disputes are lame.

Three, how can you have a tournament without Bute in it?

Four, Andre Ward's fights are all in Oakland?

I mean, wtf? Sounds like a team of monkeys put this thing together.
I guarantee when this ends people will be demanding another one. It's not too long at all, that's basically saying you don't like watching boxing, and this is boxing at the highest level!

Bute not being in it is the only criticism of this really, and even then there's no big deal because the winner of the Super six (or any of them for that matter) can fight him after the tournament.

Andre Wards fights all being in Oakland doesn't bother me really, i mean the only relevance that would have is if he had a hometown decision, and he hasn't he has dominated both his opponents.

I guess they could have attempted to set dates and venues before the tournament but those agreements would most likely have been broken because of recovery times after fights and what other events it would clash with etc.

kessler dropping out sucks, but green has no chance anyways, but the winner of the tourney is still considered the man.

          the super 6 was/is a great idea
