floyds antics are not good models for boxers, admit that, can you stand boxers imitating floyds antics once they get to be ranked at the top? thatll be the end of boxing, prolly mcmahon will own top rank and gbp.

No different than anyone who is in the top spot thats my only point. Don't blame floyd, blame the economic realities and politcs within the sport. Besides, all you are talking about is how he hypes his fights. Dude is always in shape and is a master of his craft, can we at least agree on that?

The wads of cash the flash yeah it may be nauseating at some point. But before all this he wasn't making any real dough. I won't blame him for taking on the Money May persona and running with it. Just like I don't blame Manny for taking $22.5 for fighting Marg.

dude, one should know whens hyping is enough and overstretching it. when ones doing things already unnecessary for hype its called by other name its called insecurity. let me clear this out to you i have no beef in ones hyping his own fight.

If you think he doesn't need it then you don't know his history or the real economics in boxing. Its not abouthis fans its about casual fans the ones that pay big money to see him and ODH and SRl and Tyson and Ali.

You just have to understand the difference. Hagler (my favorite), Manny, hearns, Cotto, Trinidad are all great fighters who made real good money. But the guys above are doubling and tripling what they made.

so you mean its ok for upcoming fighters to emulate floyd to earn their share of the "economic pie" you were saying? dude, thats what im trying to say, boxing will never be any better if fighters will be like floyd, you can never have the fight you want to see. its combat people want to see. boxing had its heyday when fighters fight the next best fighter or seek other challenges. pacquiao seek challenges, he goes on challenging his capability taking risk, even if haters tells him he is dumb by only following arum and not deciding for himself but you see from what hes doing its more than business for him. he seek not only the financial gain but also for the glory, for his countrymen, for the sports, are you blind that you cannot see, he loves the sport of fighting he savors it, he salivates to new challenges, cant you see the smile on his face, he laughs during staredown, hes like imagining the war hes going to inside the ring and he cherishes them. daym thats the fighter right there. i will not blame you if what you preferrred are those phoney staring down wanting to psyche out their opponents but when inside the ring at a sign of trouble covers up or clinch or one even jumped out.

look at floyd now, going ustream after pac-marg became official, see what im trying to say, hes a distraction, blabbering like a ***get, thats unnecessary. he wanted to hog the limelight hes so insecure.

I know Manny is very suspect but the others he had no excuse to not fight when they were knocking on his door. If and when floyd retires which he will soon, I believe boxing will be better! You have fighters like bradley and the 140 who all want to fight the to prove they are champs. Also We will get a huge star from who ever wins the super six. Do any of you agree??
Not making excuses but, all the guys you mentioned were all guys that were supposed to be threats. Brian Kenny ran off a list of guys Floyd supposadly was avoiding Baldi/Hatton/Mosley. If you were a fan of boxing back then you'd know this...
The Cotto thing, as much as I wish he'd fought him (Bob wouldnt have allowed it) Floyd by WIDE UD.
P Will... Would have loved it, big problems but Tana showed how to beat him. Plus high risk, very low reward (as far as buisness goes)
Marg? well in a way it was a good thing, but Marg was never really on elite status Plus, why fight for 8mil/no belts when you can fight for 8 plus the belts...
IMO if the money and situations were rite, Floyd fights., If the buisne$$ is bad he turns his back, no matter who

Personally, I don't think Boxing will be better or worse. It will simply roll on without him. Has anyone really noticed the void yet?
