will boxing be better when floyd retires?

I know i'll get flamed for this but floyd has continually backed out of fights with fighters that possed any type of chance against him? He never fought tony whilst he was in his prime, Cotto, mosley, p williams and now manny! I know Manny is very suspect but the others he had no excuse to not fight when they were knocking on his door. Instead he fought, oscar who was shot, ricky hatton, and not to mention baldomir (club fighter)

If and when floyd retires which he will soon, I believe boxing will be better! You have fighters like bradley and the 140 who all want to fight the to prove they are champs. Also We will get a huge star from who ever wins the super six. Do any of you agree??

It'll be better if people like yourself didn't pay him any mind, sadly you have a hard time doing that.

I have to agree with you there. Manny does my nut in with his catch weight fights. Just man up and fight someone at the real weight. What kind of gets me down about floyd is that he would beat all the fighters around 140-147 and maybe a few at 154. He is that dam good but is to chicken **** to prove it. No fighter near his weight would have enough to beat him. he the ultimate boxer IMO the only thing he lacks which makes him hated is HEART!!!! He does not possess the heart to fight the top fighters around his weight.

I highly doubt it, people like you who critisize Floyd never stop talking about him, go crazy flooding forums with threads about him when theres a small rumour that he might make an announcment, thoughout history i have never seen so many people who 'hate' someone so much they feel they have to talk about him all day, everyday.

You don't have to follow what Mayweather is doing if you don't want to.

He's not called Money Mayweather for nothing. He fought Oscar because of the money. He fought Hatton for the money. He fought Baldomir for the money. Everyone said that he was ducking Baldomir when Baldomir beat Judah. Funny how people twist the facts when they start bashing people. Why would he fight Margarito when he was getting paid more to fight Baldomir? Why would he fight Cotto when he was getting paid much more fighting Oscar or Hatton?

Pac did the same thing too.

Instead of fighting the cream of the crop at 135 after Diaz he fought Oscar. Why? Because it was big money. He then fought Hatton. Why? Because of the money and the lineal championship. He then fought Cotto because of the money.

These guys are called prizefighters for a reason.

I dont hate him! I just think its such a shame that a fighter as blessed as him doesnt man up and cement his egacy as an ATG! He could wipe out all these contenders but bottles it every time. He makes it look so easy in the ring, I cant understand why he never fights the best at there prime. I'd back him against anyone around the weight.

Its just a shame he wont though.

But surely as a fighter at heart he wants the challenge to fight better fighters? I understand he wants to be payed but surely he wants to prove he's an ATG p4p top ten? Unless he's so shallow that all he cares about is money and not the fans or his legacy.

Remember that Floyd is very contradictory in his statements sometimes. He is the guy who said that, "legacy doesn't pay the bills," (monetary statement) or "how did Pacquiao get fighter of the decade when he has lost three times," (legacy statement).

I think it's the sign of the times. Back when boxing was at its peak boxers cared about the money but thought about their legacy much more, but to get the big money you had to fight the best out there.
