I don't think we'll ever see Top fighters from both sides fight one another (more so Boxers going to MMA). Toney and Couture are both past their primes in both Boxing and MMA. You're not really gonna see The Klitschkos fight Brock Lesnar or Frankie Edgar against Miguel Cotto. If you look at the recent MMA vs Boxing matches, they're comprised of over the hill fighters looking for a paycheck.

Tim Sylvia vs Ray Mercer
Randy Couture vs James Toney

Neither side is going to risk going to the other sport if they got a good thing going on where they're at. Even though Floyd is considered the best Boxer on the planet, you don't think his ego and rep would take a hit if he went and fought Frankie Edgar or BJ Penn in a MMA match and got dominated?

The money is in boxing and where as an in shape boxer could go to UFC and most likely dominate, a UFC guy stands no chance in boxing. I dont care who came over. I would just love to see Froch vs. Silva though, just to see Froch toy with him and cobra strike him all over the ring and leave him a bloody worthless mess. But as it stands UFC fighters are paid like teachers.

Shane Carwin challenged for their HW title...he got paid 40,000 dollars. Floyd Mayweather loses that much every night on his way to the casino as he often leaves his backpack filled with money open as he cruises in his convertible. Its not profitable for a pro boxer to go fight in UFC and its not possible for a UFC fighter to go to boxing. Things would have to really change for fights like this to be made.

If it makes sense (ala Mayweather vs Pacquiao). From a business standpoint, neither Dana White nor Bob Arum, GBP, Shaw, Dibella, etc would throw their top guy in there because depending which sport they're diving into (MMA or Boxing), one guy immediately is going to be at a disadvantage, and NO promoter is giving their opponent any advantages. James Toney was a clear case of someone looking for a check, running their mouth to get people talking, then collecting the check regardless of the outcome (which is exactly what Toney did...too obvious).

Kimbo should not be considered a MMA guy though, Kimbo is a STREET FIGHTER and none of those guys in MMA had the balls to stand and fight with him either, they all just took him down and held on also

but if a MMA gets into the ring it likely be a Brazilian guy like Anderson Silva, American MMA fighters are so overrated and unskilled especially when it comes to standing it is embarrassing, Silva vs Griffin was COMEDY



guys in the MMA gets credit for being tough and having heart but the truth of the matter is that many of them are just not that good ESPECIALLY a lot of the over hyped American fighters like: Rich Franklin, Forrest Griffin just to name a few, Brock Lesner is not even that good, he is just a GREAT Wrestler but he has nothing in between, Junior Dos Santos will KO Brock Lesner
