elvir muriqi vs sam ahmad. muriqi looked like the second-coming of gatti in this fight. dropped 4 times in the first 2 rounds and then dropped the other guy twice and got the stoppage in the 3rd round.

Floyd Mayweather vs Oscar De La Hoya was also a big fight for me. Not because it "got me into" either of the fighters but that fight got me back into boxing. The hype and 24/7 for that fight was amazing and both of them backed it up when they got in the ring. It was more entertaining that people expected.
I knew it, this actually consist with the way you post.

And, lol @ that fight being more entertaining than people thought... When it didn't live up the hype and it was more of a let down than anything.

It dosent matter if its a fighter that didnt amount to anything or if your not even a fan of them, but just a performance that had you in awe.

Alot of people seemed to get this sort of buzz from D Pirogs KO performance of Jacobs.

Ones that come to my mind

          1. Pavlik when he beat Miranda
          2. Jo Jo Dan (when he was robbed in my opinion) against Aydin. I thought Jo Jo Dan looked amazing in that fight.
          3. Calzaghe when he beat Lacy
          4. Hopkins when he beat Pavlik
          5. Barrera when he beat Hamed

What fights had you in awe of certain fighters
I knew Pac was going to be a star after the ledwaba fight. I would tell anybody who would listen. Same with Mayweather after Corrales. I most proud of those two. Next is Gamboa. That kid is going to be a star, bigger than Roy!!

            Bigger than Roy?

Roy by the age of 27 had accomplished a lot in boxing and was already the #1 P4P fighter in the World and a multiple division champion. Gamboa at around the same age has accomplished what exactly pro ranks?

he's also Cuban and got a later start in the pro ranks. I, personally, believe that this kid is the real deal.

And, that sucks about him having to start his career late and all. And, you right he might be the real deal.

But, he is not going to be bigger than Roy. At this age Roy had already accomplished pretty great things in boxing. Gamboa not fault of his own is way behind Roy. So I don't see how he is going to have the time to catch up to Roy let alone be bigger than him.

Hell Gamboa is barely fighting Salido who might be the best fighter he has ever faced. While Roy around this same age had wins over Hopkins and Toney and other good fighters.

Again no fault of Gamboa. But, will not be bigger than Roy. His pro career started to late and won't have the time to accomplish have the things Roy did.

What's right is right, what I should have said then is that he reminds me of Roy. I believe he will be a perennial p4p contender - soon.

Roy reached pretty lofty heights so I can see why you'd be questioning my statement.
