  • Comments Thread For: Ivan Calderon Will Look For a Segura Rematch in 2011

Ivan Calderon is looking ahead to the future after reflecting on his knockout loss to Giovanni Segura last Saturday in Puerto Rico. Calderon suffered the first loss of his career in a high paced junior flyweight unification encounter. A hook to the liver sent Calderon down for the full count in round number ten. He said the shot to the body took everything out of him and he took a knee to avoid taking another bad shot from the hard hitting Segura. He wants to return next year, win a title and then have another unification fight with Segura. [Click Here To Read More]

Yeah, I wonder about that too. Maybe being the challenger for the first time in a decade will motivate him to his old form though.

Anyway, I like him. He's a great little warrior with incredible skill.

Why? It will be the same fight all over again.

He's only going to get older which isn't a good thing. Once a fighter decides to quit he may find it even easier the second time around. Segura will likely give him an even bigger beating next time.

I don't think Calderon can beat Segura.I see a rematch ending in similar fashion with Segura eventually wearing him down again to the body, and making him quit again, or knocking him out for real this time around.
