it didnt look like he was being hit clean and it didnt look like they were big punches.. it looked like he just had no answer for the barrage and took a knee.
I haven't seen the fight, but I heard Calderon QUIT....

I have no feeling toward Calderon either way, and I definitely saw the guy quit. He was down and moving his head around, kept looking at the canvas, no sign of being in severe pain the way we see guys in when they have been tagged to the body. To make matters worse, he stood up immediately after the bell and hugged Segura. He wanted to be counted out, and to me that is quitting.Comment

I'm mexican american...I'm surprised by how many people are going crazy over this win. Calderon has always been a great boxer (and still is). Segura did his thing and won. Both boxers should be recognized for putting a great show. Big ups for the big win for Mexico, but let's not make this a biggot thread (there are many). I love a great victory over the next but let's do it respectfully!
Mexicanos and Boriquas unite!
Peace!

Segura started early off with the constant pressure to the body in the first round and continued until the Mexican kid overwhelmed him in 8.
Ivan said he tried to fight him toe to toe, but thats not his style.Comment

Calderon threw the fight and made money off of it with people betting on the underdog. Thats worse than quitting.Comment

tough liver shot,he took a knee & couldnt get up...he didnt really quit,he just couldnt get up.the guy was 34-0-1 so id say he was pretty good...just a paralyzing shot to the liver.he got hit 3 times hard down there in the 8th.Comment

I didn't know the liver was located on Calderon's arm. Because thats where he got punched, he didn't get punched in the ****ing liver.Comment

the Body shots was too much for Calderon to handle, Segura had a great strategy, why head hunt the quicker and smaller fighter when you can just break him down with Body Shots
and no he didn't quitComment
