Footwork, fakes, and more footwork. That's the best way to confuse a wrestler. Toney is not known for his footwork, which is why it was easy for Randy to take him down. Toney is the type of fighter to stand in front of his opponent, roll with punches, and counter. But if you use fast footwork and faints to confuse the wrestler, than you can beat them.

    Watch exhibit A:

THis is a boxer with zero MMA experience fighting an MMA/wrestler in an MMA fight. See how the boxer used quick in and out movements to where the wrestler wasn't sure of the distance. Then he stepped in, faked a punch, and then threw a hayemaker that put the wrestler to sleep.

I believe boxing can beat any style, but most of you guys do not seem so sure. I don't understand.
So help me to understand. Are you training to be a pro boxer? Or are you training to help you street fight?

If it is the second, then that is lame....

If it is the first: My advice would be, keep your fights in the ring...

Way more things to worry about in street fights than wrestlers...

Secondly, the only reason Couture immediately took James to the floor he because he was very aware of Toney's boxing background. Couture was terrified to stand up to James for more than six seconds. If you get into a street fight with a wrestler, the chances of some random person knowing you are a boxer are almost none. SO the wrestler is going to trade blows with your first cause all fights start on the feet, and thats when you knock em' out.

Get your tag partner to distract the ref, then hit them with a steel chair and cover for the 1-2-3. It works on TV all the time.

            Aye.

The other night, me and my boy were walking home, and these **** tried to jump us. My boy caught him with a chair round the back and I pinned him while my mate went to work on his boy. It's the way to do it, IMO.

Randy Couture isn't even that good of a wrestler. Didn't he lose to The Undertaker before?

I heard about that, at UFCMania 37 or something like that.

                  Yeah.

To be fair, Floyd Mayweather did beat The Big Show. So boxing is 1-1 with wrestling/MMA really.

Exactly, and Floyd was the smaller guy, so really he should get 2 points.

I still think Toney should've gone for the tombstone piledriver

I am concerned however, after watching the ufc last night that one of these dirty wrestler types might be able to grab me and hold me down in a real street fight. I’m kinda shocked after watching Couture ****** Toney like that. We all know Toney would own Couture in a ring, but anywhere outside of that, Toney would be humped unconscious. I don’t want some guys humping and groping me in a real fight like that. What boxing techniques should I use to defend myself in a real fight against someone who doesn’t fight fair with their hands like a man? I know boxing is best but I wanna be able to use it outside of a ring if I have to. Thanks.

DON'T WORRY GUYS. Eventually the fighters will get so pissed of losing to these sorts of guys, that they will actually go and learn and develop some great TAKEDOWN DEFENCE.

Thats the answer, its not the wrestlers fault for laying a preying. Its the guy who lets himself be vunerable to it. And eventually some fighters that are prone to it, will say, "enough is enough, im going to develop a really good sprawl, i am going to develop good sweeps of my back etc" Because at the end of the day everyone wants to be a successful fighter, so they will practice it, till they can be lay n preyed no more!

I think you can blame the guys on their backs, as much as the guy on top.

But anyway there is only so much, we as humans can take before we say enough, and decide to take action. We learn from our mistakes.

So its best people learn now, its not fun to be layed on for 15 minutes.
