So you think that Maidana would be a better US debut fight than Malignaggi? Khan-Maidana wouldn't get sold as much as Khan-Malignaggi and it definitely wouldnt get as much media-hype.

I've said it before and I will say it again, Malignaggi was the perfect opponent for Amir's US debut:

    1. Malignaggi is actually American
    2. Malignaggi is a native New Yorker (New York is the excellent place for a US debut)
    3. Malignaggi can draw a crowd in the US (Maidana can't if you didn't know already)
    4. Malignaggi is a well known boxer who has only lost to A-fighters such as Cotto and Hatton. So if Amir would beat him the thought would be that Amir is an A-fighter as well because he beat him just like the other A-fighters.
    5. Malignaggi can talk. Talks give quotes -> quotes give more media exposure. Maidana is one boring talker.
    6. Amir would be (and was) nervous because of the debut. Amir would make more mistakes than usual and he can't afford that against Maidana. Against Malignaggi he can.

The awkward, durable Urango can just as likely knock Khan out as Maidana can, and is only about as likely to be outboxed by Khan as Maidana is.

Maidana is nothing special at all.
Go to that Pain Killer thread.

I actually think Maidana is a fairly easy mandatory for Khan. I mean he's not a clever fighter, as long as Khan does his preparation right Maidana should bring no surprises to the table at all. He's a hard puncher, prepare to fight a hard puncher and keep him at range, frustrate him, use superior speed and accuracy to pick him off all night. Don't get ****** into a macho slugfest like Ortiz and Khan will walk it.

So the discrediting of Maidana has already begun in anticipation of Khan's dismantling of him in December.....

Oh and throw in a way to hype Alexander as well.....

Lets be real, Urango and Maidana are both one-dimensional sluggers. It'd be a toss up fight. Maidana is quicker and probably hits slightly harder though.

Exactly Urango and Maidana are on the same level. Victor Ortiz is still a better win then anyone on Urangos resume

Urango is my boy, and I also think he would give Maidana hell. Hasn't he fought since Alexander? I'm eager to see him get back into things.

From now on, in addition to being the spiritual leader of the Katsidis Posse, you can call me... the leader of the Urangotans! :box2:

                Don't be a d1ck.

Mike Tyson lost to Buster Douglas, Marvin Hagler lost to retired SRL, Amir Khan got KO'd by Biedrins Prescott--

So don't act like you know what's going to happen when two men punch each other, because you don't. If you did, you'd be rich. But you're not. So obviously, you don't.

At least Maidana didn't lose to Kotelnik.

Also, anyone can have an average night. He still won, just not as devastatingly as we all thought. I didn't think Corley would roll over.

I already knew he was over rated. Very one dimensional and just a slugger.

So Khan shouldn't fight him, then?
