Segura may have been the first to beat Calderon, but Cazares is still the toughest opponent Calderon ever fought.

So which one is it, did Segura stopped him or he quit on his knees?

I sometimes think the sport of boxing might be too complicated for people because they can be too simple minded...

I see people saying that Calderon's old, so his legs left him...

No... It's called bodywork, when you land on someone's body repeatedly, you're slowing them down taking their energy away.

No Calderon opponent had much respect for his punches and would put tons of pressure on him because of it. Iribe put tons of pressure on him, but got pretty much shutout after the 2nd.

What's the difference from Segura? Bodywork, unlike Claderon's other opponents, Segura was smart enough to make a dedicated effort to go to the body and continue going there.

If Segura didn't make the effort to go the body, instead of going for head shots, we would be saying Calderon put on a good performance winning the UD or some **** like that.

It's true that 1 falls & has to raise himself like Miguel Cotto is a very good example cause he's done it couple of times ¿but Tito Trinidad? He never redeemed himself from the beat down Hopkins gave him..After that Tito beat a worn out Hacine Cherifi & the smaller Moyorga & it took Tito over 100 power shots to take Mayorga out & lost 2 big fights in a row against Winky Wright who beat Tito with 1 hand just jabbing Tito in the face all night & his lost to Roy Jones jr who could have taken Tito out any time he wanted but instead Jones let him live & won a UD... Calderón fought 1 hell of a fight, but he fought Segura's fight or better yet Segura made Calderón fight his fight by cutting the ring off very good & swarming Calderón all night & those shot's to the body were the bread & butter of the fight cause Calderón amazingly absorbed the shots to the head & jaw very well..& think Calderón should do 1 fight before 2011 at least by november ro so....

you wrong he didnt slug it out he ran for most of the time and segura kept on him that pressure got to him he could get away from him the first rounds giovanni was missing alot of his punches but once he gon in his grove and punished the body calderon was gone and its not like the taylor card because segura was also ahead on the score cards idk what fight u were looking at also they stole a knockedown frim segura calling it a slip ill give it up to calderon there were moments when i though he was just gonna take a knee or not go out anymore i think the fight might have gone a lil to long

Thank you for clearing that up Redrum. I hear some people giving respect and some making excuses. If it went the other way around, it would be all praise Calderon, he gave a boxing lesson and Segura sucks, ect...

If your gonna make excuses - Just say it was a good fight and the better man won - It will look better on you.
