Before a crowd of 15,000 fans at Luna Park in Argentina, Marcos Maidana (29-1, 27 KOs) won a unanimous twelve round decision over veteran Demarcus Corley (37-14-1). The scores were 117-110, 115-112 and 117-110 for "El Chino." Maidana looked strong but a cut above his right eye and fatigue in the late rounds complicated the fight. Maidana clearly did not train much for this fight. He threw 1000+ punches against Kotelnik and was able to get up from 3 knockdowns and come back strong against Ortiz.
His stamina was absolutely terrible tonight and it should be a wake up call to not take any opponent lightly. Corley ain't no chump and is always in good condition, so I knew he would give him a good fight.Comment
