I have a couple of buddies that love wrestling that are now boxing fans because of Floyd Mayweather's appearance.
Floyds appearance in WWE actually helped boxing. It drew in some people that would normally never think about boxing. Toney on the other hand, coming in fat, didn't really make boxing look good.
