It was such a great fight, Calderon was killing him with great counter shots, but that body work, especially in the 3rd took its toll...it was bound to happen...I think a rematch is definitely in order. Maybe Atlantic City or NY so I can peep it
Damn man why don't they put fights like this one on Cable??How was this fight was Ivan landing his shots as well? How was Giovanni taking them??If anybody seen the fight I would love to here from a fan how it went down..
Calderon is/was a great boxer but there is a curse that comes with a lack of power. When a fighter is on you he has little fear of getting caught. He has little respect for your punch and there is little you can do to earn his respect. And when the scorecards are not in your favor, there will be no come from behind knockout. Fighters will out work you if you can't hurt them. Tough business to be in without power, but praise to Calderon for making it as far as he did without it!
Nothing to be ashame for. Any warrior looses one day, What's important is that Calderon gave all He had and loss with dignity.
Been a sore looser is not going to help things. Pa' lante Boricua, apoya tus campeones cuando ganan y cuando pierden tambien.
Great boxing fight and night for boxing. Boxing needs more fights like these. And we all see when Mexico vs Puerto Rico is on the tube- they bring out the best in boxing. The best boxing champions from any two countries are definitely from Mexico and Puerto Rico. Cong**** to Segura !!!! Que viva Mexico !!!!
Calderon was pissing me off.... i think it was the 5th round where he was getting tagged on the ropes and still came back like a true warrior... he didnt quit without leaving a great fight... props to him
