Dude instead of regurgitating this ****** **** why don't you mention two boxers in MMA that are actually competeing on a serious level.

KJ Noons and Marcus Davis are two Boxers who have actually trained for MMA and have had success. Unlike ****** ass Tony who only trained for a whole 9 months and got his ass kicked.

Seriously if you are gonna be a ****** MMA hater you could at least research thing and actually have a liegitimate argument.

Its funny how they introduce him has a great Heavyweight boxer and all that ****... Don't get me wrong, Toney had a good career at heavyweight, but great? All time great? Not really. The man was more a Super-Middleweight, Light Heavyweight or Cruiserweight in my mind.

Toney probably didn't work out enough his takedown defence, it was obvious that Couture would be going for that, Toney should have moved faster and stay away from Couture for the first minutes, but he was inactive, his foot speed were inexistant, Couture almost choked his takedown but Big Toney rolled down.

Once again, lol at the ATG Heavyweight... The dude is 5"9 or may be 5"10.

Put Vitali Klitschko against Couture and its another story last night, not saying that Couture wouldn't have won, but atleast with his good kickboxing background and big reach advantage, he could have stay way further of Couture.

James "Belly's Out" Toney was out of shape and clearly NOT the best man to represent the sport of boxing.

I hate to steal someone elses quote, but I thought it was one of the best I have heard to descibe the situation...

I was reading the E-S-P-N boards, and they are going through the exact same thing as these boards. MMA fans taking this win to heart (as if it really proved something), and Boxing fans on the defence (as if this really proved something)..

One poster wrote: This fight was like a Lion fighting a Shark...On land, the Lion wins. In water, the Shark wins.

I like that quote. The bottom line here is, nothing was proven last night but one thing, both these sport will be here...Competing against each other, and have fans picking side, or enjoying both. Time for folks to just deal with it.

sadly for you, the amount of people who watch the couture vs toney fight is vastly superior to the amount of people who say mercer ko sylvia

Toney might have had it coming since he wanted the fight but I think the UFC came out looking bad in the end. If they though for a second that this would bring new MMA fans from boxing they were dead wrong. If anything they pissed off a lot of boxing fans, and this was just really just a show for the MMA pro-wrestling nerds to ********** over.

This fight was just like the typical fight were one fighter gets retired in humiliating fashion, like Holmes-Ali, SRL-Camacho etc etc. Except that Toney was also entering a new sport.

**** them, they didn't get my money...and Mercer-Sylvia can't be erased from history LOL.

and the common theme there is that those boxers never cross-trained and just came for a paycheck.
