Instead of James Toney who should represent boxing in MMA?

James Toney clearly is not the ideal representative for boxing in the MMA arena.

If so then who is the ideal or best representative? Assume 12 months training before fighting a top 5 MMA fighter.

My pick would be Cintron since he already is a wrestler. Vitali and Wladmir were kickboxers but I don't know how good they are in Sambo/grappling.

With 12 months training Pacquiao could do well with his athleticism, speed, and power. Plus, he is an ex-Muay Thai fighter.

Hopkins, because of high intelligence, could learn grappling very quickly. And De La Hoya is Gracie trained in jujitsu.

how about no one? there is no representing boxers in MMA. brock lesnar isn't representing the WWE. he was a wrestler, now he is a mixed martial artist, and no one can deny that. same with toney if he wins, or even looks good.

Good boxers don't go into that sport unless they are not good anymore. They are just a name to save falling ppv numbers.

Anyone ever wonder what would happen if a mma fighter entered boxing, they would get beat by journeymen opponents. Now imagine if they did it after they couldn't compete anymore and were old. Thats what mma promoters are doing.

actually, Cintron called out Sean Sherk a while back when Sherk was a champion.
seems like the UFC wasnt up for it.
Cintron imo would do quite well in mma.

honestly, I dont want any 'good' boxers to go to mma, because its a waste of their talent...I like watching their skills in boxing more.

but we could send that maniac ONeil Bell to mma, he has similiar wrestling credentials and he isnt doing anything anyway in boxing. he could also throw axes at people.
